Lovely Oxfordshire village, surrounded by pretty countryside. Both The Bull (where we stayed) and The Bell offer decent accommodation smack in the centre (beware of the one-way system and lack of on-street parking in the centre - both inns have car parking). Great food at The Bull (car park and outdoor eating area). Check out the Rose and Crown for a really good list of Ales, ciders and perries. If you get a chance then do visit the Charlbury Museum (5 steps from The Bull) - quaint and fascinating little space with several rooms chock full of nostalgia and history.
A pleasant part of Oxfordshire countryside. Close enough to facities but pleasantly rural. Good eating & drinking venues in Abingdon 2 miles down the road. Ideal B&B, however own transport helpful
Beautiful village. Ideal for exploring the Oxfordshire countryside and on the doorstep for Blenheim Palace (a must see, stunning) Lovely restaurants and pubs (Star Inn, in particular) a perfect location. No hesitation in going back. Already re booked and won't be the last time.
We liked staying in Thame as our son was playing in a golf competition at the Oxfordshire golf club and in was so near. Also liked the position as it was quieter than actually staying in Oxford which was easy to access and they had about 6 park and rides.
Blenheim Palace is the star attraction at Woodstock. Whilst entry to the house is quite expensive, it is free and very pleasant to walk in the parkland. The town has two museums, one of Oxfordshire life and one military. The High Street has the typical blend of high-end tourist shops, i.e. antiques, clothes, art galleries etc. There is also a good range of pubs and cafes. Buses to Oxford are fast and frequent so Woodstock could be a good, quieter choice for a weekend away in Oxford. I stayed and had dinner at the Punchbowl, which was excellent.
Probably one of the ugfliest places in Oxfordshire. Didcot and Harwell both have sizeable eyesores and neither I would visit by choice. The hotel was simply well located for a party we attended.
Traditional Oxfordshire village, with a good selection of decent pubs and restaurants, lovely coffee shops and hotels. Village centre is off the main road so peaceful and rural feel.
We enjoyed the, museum and the cafe served good coffee. As we came by train we walked into and around town. Some parts are veryrun down but around the market square and the shopping arcade was better. As we were in Oxfordshire for two family celebrations we only ate out for dinner once in an Italian restaurant which was excellent both for food and service. I wish it were nearer to our home town.
The location is within walking distance to Blenheim palace and the Oxfordshire museum is close by. There is an excellent bus service with regular buses going into Oxford. Parking is very limited and all hotel and restaurant meals are very exoensive
Oxford is a beautiful historical city, with plenty to see and do for the visitor. The people are friendly and the John Morris Weatherspoons in cowley is well worth a visit. For the driver, the Oxfordshire countryside is beautiful and includes many quaint historic villages. Also Bicester is worth a visit for those with cash to splash.
Location was perfect. The hotel itself was fantastic, including every member of staff that we met. The food in the hotel/pub restaurant was next level, a really amazing surprise and the quality of ingredients (and the actual meals) was brilliant. If you're looking for a base from which to explore the Cotswolds and/or Oxfordshire, that's peaceful, great value for money and has amazing food, drink and staff, look no further than the Bird in Hand!
The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and has everything you need. Complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee . The location is good. Close to main A34 yet quite rural. Restaurant menu is good value and quality. Perfect base to explore the Oxfordshire countryside on foot, bike, car or public transport. Pool is clean and well maintained.
Middle Aston
The house has has extensive grounds, situated in an attractive village. Their website indicates it is primarily a conference/training venue (and not a boutique or ‘country house’ hotel). They provide adequate B&B hotel accommodation at a very competitive price for a location in rural Oxfordshire. Staff were pleasant and very helpful.
Henley on Thames
Small hotel, restaurant, and pub located in a charming village in rural Oxfordshire. Very well run - the staff is well trained and very courteous. The food is excellent (especially the cooked breakfast) and the hotel has a lovely beer garden to enjoy your meal or evening beer.
The rooms are always comfortable at the Oxfordshire, but see below. It's great to be able to use the pool, sauna. steam room and jacuzzi. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. It is a very handy venue for any events in Thame which is why we use it a lot.
Great location for trips around Oxfordshire like Blenheim, Bicester Outlet Village and Oxford. Easy walk to pubs, restaurant's, and the bus stop.. Apartment was nice, clean and comfortable. All good.
Witney
A really beautiful hotel in Oxfordshire. Great connection to Oxford and to the Cotswolds. We really enjoyed our stay.

Banbury
Fabulous Oxfordshire village, quiet, lovely hotel
Staff was nice and helpful. The location is great. We went to Oxford by bus, and the bus station is basically behind the hotel. Just a few mins walk. We only spent 2 days in Oxford and lots of sightseeing spots are within walking distance from the hotel.
Historic hotel with excellent facilities and a great vibe
suggestive experience. fantastic location. great hotel! absolutely recommended if you are looking for a special stay in oxford. team is just great! rooms are very nice, super clean.
The property was comfortable, clean and in good order. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Easy access to the room and ample parking space.
Lovely place to stay - the whole place was clean and well maintained - lovely room and very comfortable bed
The location was perfect for exploring the Cotswolds. The room was lovely and great value
Central location, hotel spotless clean, friendly staff, room very comfortable and its restaurant offers great choice of food including breakfast which is affordable and the portion was good.
An enchanting place in a lot of green. Never have we seen so much cordiality, cleanliness, care and loving detail. Very romantic and peaceful. Everything is perfectly thought out, from the tent furnishings, the ready-to-go fireplace in front of the tent to the functional kitchen shelter. The operators were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
