A lovely hostel with great facilities in a great location
I loved my stay at the barn. It was my first time staying in a hostel and I was surprised how much I loved it. The bar had amazing cocktails, Great location, Kitchen is fully equipped, Bathrooms where clean and had lots of them so no waiting time. Loved that they had board games to play in the common areas. Staff was super nice and the location was perfect.
Great location, very clean, excellent social area, inside was hotter than we ever imagined, great bathroom. Stayed in three different hotels during our trip to Iceland. This was the fist also cheapest. It set the bar really high. Oh yeah and it was really quiet as well.
By far the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff was amazing, superfriendly and helpful. They even have a sauna and a hot tub! Arrived too late to try the food but it looked great. The rooms are nice and clean, you can tell this place is run by people who really care and knows about service. LOVED it, want to come back :)
Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The guys have really nailed it!
One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Busy, but it's a great location, just a few minutes from the black sand beach and basalt columns. Fantastic sunset from there. The room was so spacious (I had a double room), and the bed was SO comfy! The kitchen was spacious and well stocked with all the appliances you'd need. Obviously, the issues of shared bathrooms...waiting for showers, etc, but overall, I highly recommend The Barn.
Loved the casual, social environment they have at their bar and lounge area. The rooms are comfortable and pretty nice with a modern design. The bathrooms, while shared, were kept decently clean. The place is popular among young backpackers. The hostel is just minutes from the black sand beach in Vik.
Its in good location, right next to the petrol station and tiny shop. Bathroom was nice. Room was clean and had a kettle with some tea/coffee/sugar. It was one of the cheapest places we found in entire Iceland, and Hofn is well known for being super expensive, so its decent for Icelandic prices. Normally I would rate this place lower but it is a budget-friendly accommodation so you can't expect 5* treatment. If you want just a place to stay for a night and leave straight away, I think you'll be happy
The atmosphere, with the dogs, the chicken, the view. It's really a "homy-feeling" youth hostel. I'll go back there with no hesitation!
