The breakfast was fine. It was overall good. Supper was a bit of a disappointment.

The manager was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided non-feather pillows and duvet, to cater for allergies. The location was great, in the quaint village of Ashbury, and great for beautiful countryside walks. The food was amazing.

After a good visit the week before I booked to stay again. I was given key card for room 122 as I walked along the corridor I noticed an unpleasant smell. To my horror when I opened the door the smell was in my room when I opened what looked like a glass window within seconds of arrival I was horrified to see there was a brick wall behind it. No window and disgusting smell. I went down stairs to complain and refuse to stay in that room. The staff came from holiday inn next door as it is owned by same person. They were rude condescending and very unhelpful. When I asked for a refund it was there is a cancellation fee and you have exceeded the deadline and as you booked through booking . Com you will need to go through them for a refund.
It was around seven at night they never offered an alternative or try to support the situation. I left and signed into the premier in. When I emailed the manager accepted the situation should never have happened and admitted they could have sorted something out. He said I would get a full refund and offered 2 free nights. I had booked / further weeks which I cancelled and demanded a refund.
By law they have to advertise a room without window as such so people with phobias and asthma don’t book. Also it’s not a standard room. I am a contractor for a large organisation with many more of us in the area for at least 6 months. I have shared my horror story and stopped people from considering a visit.
I will not be staying there again. The week before was great and I gave a glowing review but the way I was treated was shameful.
The location was lovely. Was so quiet overnight
Has a seating area outside which is an added bonus
Breakfast was a varied continental and tasty
Walking distance to the village (10 mins)
Owners are amenable and so happy to help
Well worth a visit

We didn't want to come home!
We didn't want to come home! The village itself is stunning and offers plenty of scenery, walks and eating places. We found the locals extremely friendly and welcoming and the location itself is very nicely situated for visiting the Cotswolds and Oxford. We would love to come back.
The play area, especially the pool table was excellent and it was very clean, tidy and had a nice theme. Very big size, comfy rooms. 100% worth the money and fantastic area. Play area has a pool table, darts, tables to play many board games, nice TV and more.
Great Kitchen with everything you need.
10/10 Hotel
This is a pub with accommodation is in the middle of the charming village of Shrivenham. The pub is very near St Andrews church and a short walk from the Memorial Hall. It has friendly staff and serves good beer and authentic food. The room was comfortable.
Fantastic hosts, Colin and Lizzie made us so welcome. Our room was well appointed with everything we could need, and anything available just for asking. A pleasant walk to Shrivenham village for meals and supplies, and a beautiful rural outlook from our door.
Breakfast was terrible. Cold crousant cereal no milk first morning. Room small with no chairs on which to sit to eat breakfast. Most good hotels provide breakfast in a dining room.
The property was great. The seating area outside was an added bonus. Was so quiet overnight. Would recommend this place and walking distance into Shrivenham itself
