There isn't much to see/ do there unless you like windsurfing or cycling. we tried to go to a national park but when we got there on the bus we were told the salt flats had dried up and there was a donkey sanctuary 2 hours walk away. which was not that attractive at 33 degrees with no shade.
The lake side at Podersdorf is not great as there is not much shade and I found it very strange that you have to access the lake side via turnstiles with a local card. Swimming is not attractive as it is a silty lake and only about 3ft deep.

Podersdorf is probably best known for its iconic lighthouse. It really is breathtaking, especially at the time of sunset. Nearby beach is free to access after 5:00 p.m. so you can take your picknick blanket and a bottle of wine and enjoy the view.

Busy place for families with kids.
Busy place for families with kids. You can take a bike and ride around the lake, which we did, but it was mostly through fields and you will not see the lake often. Restaurants are okeyish, but prepare yourself they often don´t have english menu, you can´t pay with card and it can be hard to get a person who speak english enough. For God's sake it´s 2020!

I like the possibility to do a lot outdoor activities. For shopping we went to "Neusiedl" to the designer and fashion outlet. We eat there sometimes at L'Osteria and few other restaurants. At Neusiedler I recommend to try out windsurfing and kiting.

Hotel situated in a quiet road within walking distance of the lake. A friendly and helpful owner always ready to give advice. Breakfast was good with a great choice of meats and cheeses etc. Bedrooms are comfortable with balconies. There is a garden where one can relax. In the town within 15 to 20 minutes walking distance there are a some "Heurige" taverns where you can sample the local wines and order local dishes. Excursions can be made to several vineyards in the area for wine tasting.
Wonderful tasty breakfast in neat and comfortable restaurant with nice view and calm environment. Fresh vegetables, plenty of side dishes, lovely fish and delightful cup of coffee with traditional Austrian strudel.
It is within a short walking distance to the beach and all amusements of this place, including the local place of interest - the lighthouse. Host are the wondeful silver haired couple. The name of this hotel “Al Faro” in Italian means “At the Lighthouse”. Beautiful.
The place is great, centrally located so a walking distance from the main attractions (beach, a huge playground and the pier) and restaurants. They have fantastic prosecco breakfast, friendly and helpful staff and the hotel restaurant serves fabulous food too. They are family friendly ( they will put a cot in your room upon request, there are high chairs in the dining area and the lift is big enough to fit two adults and a pram) so we are definitely going back.
It’s a very nice and clean hotel
the rooms a comfortable and ours even had a bathtub
The breakfast was by far the most amazing buffet we had in a long time
with vegan and and options for some common intolerances
The tables were all decorated and had name tags and a little news of the day which was very sweet
they had a big timetable with various classes that you could join
but unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough to join them
The breakfast is great. There’s plenty of options to pick from. Everything was tasty and fresh. The staff at the hotel is very friendly. The building is right off a beautiful part of the lake. I highly recommend this place to families with kids. They even have a secluded play area at the restaurant, where parents can eat while the kids play without annoying other guests, which saves you the awkwardness that comes with that.
My wife and I spent a week at Al Faro in July of 2023. The hotel is very nice, with clean, spacious rooms. The breakfast is absolutely top-notch, with huge variety of food and very tasty as well. Where the experience really shines, however, is with the staff. I can honestly say I've never been to a friendlier hotel. Everyone was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and warm. We would 100% stay here again.
Amazing stay. Very nice hotel, with great personnel. Nice, new, clean ! Breakfast was great but the to of all was the large backyard with several benches and tables to hang out or relax after meals. There were things for kids available such as sand place, trampoline, toys etc. You can also store your bikes into an open or closed shed.
Fantastic host, very helpful and relaxed. Breakfast far exceeded my expectations, with fresh fruit, bread and the usual meats, cheeses etc.
Very modern room, not seen often in Austria from my experience. Huge lovely garden to relax in or eat breakfast in, and really good kids play area in the back.
Hosts are extremely friendly and welcoming.
Although there were only a few guests in the hotel during our stay, they had everything there for breakfast from fresh bakery to fruits and sausages and cereals. The scrambled egg was prepared fresh just when we needed. :-)
Such a nice and modern designed hotel. Nice cozy rooms, comfy beds and pillows. Clean bathrooms. I think it is perfect for outdoor sports and kite-surf lovers. It is around 15mins far from Parndorf Outlet. Brealfast is also fine and diverse!
The hotel is located 5 minutes from the lake, the room has everything you need, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. You get the Burgenland card after arriving, so the beach access is free for every hotel guest.
Loved that I could borrow SUP equipment at the hotel. Getting the Neusiedler See Card with the stay for free was an unexpected bonus too. Breakfast also had some vegan options - not much but still.
Free parking, delicious breakfast, bicycle rental on property, great shower, provided a mini fan (hotel doesn’t really have air conditioning but more of a air circulation system).
Great place to stay for the night, everything is clean and modern. The rooms are a bit small but it's cozy. Great breakfast, parking is in front of the hotel.
