I really loved staying here. The rooms are clean and with all you need. Also very silent, I could not hear anything.
The position is super central, you can reach the bus stop in 3 minutes and the city centre in just 5 minutes.
Staff is nice, the overall experience was good and you can benefit from a 24h reception.
I really loved the breakfast that included everything and it makes me happy :)
With respect to many other accommodations I found the price perfect. I would definitely book another trip in this hotel

We flew in from Oslo and reached ahead of check in time - they gave us an early check in! Room was quite nice - but quite stuffy as well and we needed fans and had to keep window open - recommend that for the summers! Washroom is also large enough - the shower stall was a little weird with foldable doors that needed to be folded one way or other. Room size was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was a decent spread with some options for vegetarians. Black coffee was free for all residents. Staff at the hotel were exceptionally helpful and really deserve more than pat on their back. Property also had washing machine / dryer for self-laundry which was great. Location is also fantastic.
On a picturesque waterside location in Tromsø, which is often referred to as the Paris of the North, is Scandic Ishavshotel, offering stunning views of the harbour and city.

Love this hotel. We had a view of the harbour, which is worth the money. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Preferred having our meals last time in the hotel ( think it's a more cosy dining room ) and not next door but everyone renovates sometime !! Afternoon tea , Fila , lovely idea.

Unique, arty, traditional and lively pretty much sums up the great mix that the island of Tromsø has to offer. The city is home to the unique Arctic Cathedral, an array of pubs, cafés and an energetic street culture.
If you’re planning a day of sightseeing be sure to visit Tromsø Museum, Polar Museum, the University Museum of Tromsø, Mack Brewery, and the Arctic Alpine Botanic Garden.
The city’s main square often holds a variety of markets and its streets are lined with colourful and old-style buildings and houses. Tromsø is one of the best places to view the amazing colours of the Northern Lights.
Nicknamed the ‘Gateway to the Arctic’ due to being a launching point for polar expeditions, Tromsø provides numerous activities such as hiking and kayaking during summer, and skiing and dog-sledding in winter, all in a backdrop of eye-catching scenery.
Tromsø is easily accessible from major cities such as Tallinn, Oslo and Helsinki and Tromsø Airport has direct flights to various European destinations. Check-out Booking.com for a selection apartments and hotels in Tromsø and throughout Norway.
We loved Tromso so much. We went in May at just the beginning of the midnight sun. The sun never set which was something to get used to, but so beautiful. We were really lucky with the weather as the sun was shining down. We had 3 full days there. 2 of those days we booked with excursions which were great. Would definitely recommend booking them for most of your days. 1 day we didn't have major plans but we did book into a sauna and do the cable car. I would recommend only 1 day of easy going plans as to make the most out of the city, excursions are great. Every evening we looked at reviews for good restaurants and booked for dinner about 6pm. Lots of choices. I know Tromso is really popular in the winter for the Northern lights so technically this is their quiet time, but we loved it and would recommend you to consider going in the sun. 'Get your guide' is a great website to book activities! Also 'Polar adventure' company has such a nice crew so would definitely book anything with them.

Tromsø is a delightful city in a breathtaking location.
Tromsø is a delightful city in a breathtaking location. We went in May and enjoyed midnight sun over snowy hills. Local people were lovely, very friendly, excellent English. Cards accepted everywhere, didn't use any cash all week. Plenty to see and do, mostly within walking distance but we got cheap 24 bus passes and explored in all directions too. Tromsø billet app useful for cheap tickets. Tourist info staff very helpful. We had a fantastic fjord cruise on the Brim Explorer - highly recommended. Food excellent too, local cafes for lunch, enjoyed a particularly good Indian meal at the Indie Restaurant.

Tromso was okay, only small, not a lot to do, plenty souvenir shops, was nice for 3 nights but wouldn't go for any longer. We went on a boat on the fjords which was 4 hours, would have been better if had only been 2 hours, it was just mountains and water we found it to be boring, and it wasn't cheap, would we recommend, No.

Tromsø is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting, regardless of if you're chasing the polar lights, or just want to explore the city and the area during the day. The city is in close touch with nature and offers variety of different activities. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is going there during the Easter holidays (as I did), since a lot of stores, museums, restaurants, etc. tend to be closed.

Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink. The restaurants offer a mixture of cuisine including local delicacies. There are a reasonable amount of shops offering local goods. It is an easy walk across the bridge to visit the Cable Car, definitely worth a visit to enjoy spectacular views. We arranged for a Northern Lights Tour which was fantastic. A comfortable, luxury coach drove us an hour outside of Tromso to an area with no light pollution, we had perfect weather so did not have to move on as the Northern Lights offered us the most wonderful light show for a four hour period. We were supplied with Hot Chocolate & cookies which kept us warm. The driver would have driven to another location if the weather had not been clear but on this occasion it was not necessary.

Tromsø is an amazing city.
Tromsø is an amazing city. It’s not as small as one may think.. has the right amount of grocery stores, cafés, bars etc. Quite a good nightlife, lots of young students/ tourists around so you’re never alone during solo travel! Tourism and guided activities are exceptional, they provide all the equipment, meals (in some cases) and transportation. Overall you will never be bored in Tromsø, I reccomend everyone to visit even if you’re not a sporty person there’s an activity for every fitness level.
Great, convenient location. The city bus from the airport comes very nearby and you can walk anywhere in the town center. We even walked to the cruise terminal - a bit of a longer walk but perfectly doable.
Breakfast was very nice with lots of options (cereal, eggs, bread, cold cuts, yogurt, granola, fruit). The seating area at breakfast has a beautiful view through the very large front windows. The hotel was fairly busy during our stay because of the cruise ships but the staff seemed well prepared.
Good location near Storgata and Hurtigbåt Quay. Parking in the hotel car park was a wee bit challenging. Relatively small room, unpacking of suitcases was a bit cumbersome.
Compared to other hotels in Northern Norway the breakfast buffet offered a rich choice incl. salmon, salami, cheese, fresh orange juice, the staff continuously replenished the buffet. Free waffles were offered in the afternoon.
Attentive staff.
We stayed in the standard twin bedroom. We loved the design and the cosiness of the room and the common areas. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was squeaky clean. The hotel is conveniently located close to supermarkets, bars and bus stops, including the airport bus stop. We also loved the self-check-in (it was our first time in Norway so we didn't know that could be a thing).
Fantastic breakfast buffet every morning - tons of options for everyone and considering the food in Norway is so expensive, it probably saved us money!
Location is great, lots of excursions meet at this hotel or opposite, and it was a great central point to explore Tromso. It only took us about 15-20 mins by taxi to get there from the airport, and there's a regular airport bus too.
The property is a new house turned into a lodge. Living area upstairs so views are nice.
Kitchen well supplied except for cups. BYO cup as there are only 3. A supermarket is 5 minutes up the road. Only a 25min walk to the city centre. Bathrooms were large and functional. Property is near the lake with beautiful views along the walking path. Perfect spot to catch the Northern Lights.
The location is close to the center and close to 2 bus stops making it ideal to travel around. Its not in a noisy part of the city either. The apartment itself is very nice, clean and spacious with a balcony to the north. On the first day we were even able to see the northern lights regardless of the light pollution. A nice shower, beds and kitchen.
Lovely cosy wee lodge. Absolutely perfect for our short stay. We thought this added to the experience far more than staying in a city centre hotel. The lodge was spotlessly clean and staff were very friendly. Saw the northern lights right outside our cabin 3 nights in a row - one of the best experiences of our lives.
We were given a room with a view to the bay, and given the clear skies, it was fantastic! Great service at the counter (thanks for the tips on where to spot the Northern Lights from the city and the best place to watch a World Cup match!). The breakfast last morning was the perfect farewell, delicious 😋!
The house was huge and fully furnished. We were able to see the best northern lights we saw in Norway exactly on top of our apartment. So, amazing location to spot aurora! The owner was incredibly kind and allowed us to check in earlier since there were no other guests the night before.
Nice hostel, unfortunately you have to share only one toilet and the shower with others, but the place, the price and the rooms were very ok and warm.
I ve found good people and I picked them up in my car to see the northern lights together.
I ve found only good guys
The hotel is nice and clean and right in the city center. It costed much less that the average hotel in Norway and considering there is not much options available it was just the perfect stay! The stuff is young and kind. Nice breakfast.
The location is perfect! Most excursions and the AirPort Express shuttle pickup/drop off is right outside the hotel. There is a cozy pub across the street. The views from the hotel are insane. The breakfast is good. No complaints.
Great breakfast, fika, and dinner. Awesome location. I was given a harbor view room which was very charming (albeit small). I was very satisfied with this choice, especially w/ the included food bc that is so expensive in Norway.
This location was perfect to see the northern lights. We weren't able to see them in Tromso, but luckily we booked the cabin and were able to see them there. In addition to that the host Jonathan was super nice!
Clean, nicely sized rooms for a great price. The kitchenette is very nice stocked, and the hotel is in a nice location to enjoy Tromsø from, and also easy to catch a bus into the airport from. Highly recommend!
Minimalistic and modern hotel. Everything was perfect: reception at 11th floor with its view ; helpfull and pleasant staff; nice and apaciuos rooms. Close to airport (5min drive). So 10/10 from me.
The location is so near to the airport. Stavros was so so friendly. The owner is arranging wonderful tours to chase the Northern lights with reasonable price.
