The beds are very comfortable. The lady at reception (afternoon shift) was so nice and polite. Always helpful and available for our needs and questions. She should be rewarded in comparison to the morning shift colleague (shifts on 11th and 12th March).

The Gateway to the Arctic
Unique, arty, traditional and lively pretty much sums up the great mix that the island of Tromsø has to offer. The city is home to the unique Arctic Cathedral, an array of pubs, cafés and an energetic street culture.
If you’re planning a day of sightseeing be sure to visit Tromsø Museum, Polar Museum, the University Museum of Tromsø, Mack Brewery, and the Arctic Alpine Botanic Garden.
The city’s main square often holds a variety of markets and its streets are lined with colourful and old-style buildings and houses. Tromsø is one of the best places to view the amazing colours of the Northern Lights.
Nicknamed the ‘Gateway to the Arctic’ due to being a launching point for polar expeditions, Tromsø provides numerous activities such as hiking and kayaking during summer, and skiing and dog-sledding in winter, all in a backdrop of eye-catching scenery.

Tromsø is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting,...
Tromsø is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting, regardless of if you're chasing the polar lights, or just want to explore the city and the area during the day. The city is in close touch with nature and offers variety of different activities. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is going there during the Easter holidays (as I did), since a lot of stores, museums, restaurants, etc. tend to be closed.

Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink. The restaurants offer a mixture of cuisine including local delicacies. There are a reasonable amount of shops offering local goods. It is an easy walk across the bridge to visit the Cable Car, definitely worth a visit to enjoy spectacular views. We arranged for a Northern Lights Tour which was fantastic. A comfortable, luxury coach drove us an hour outside of Tromso to an area with no light pollution, we had perfect weather so did not have to move on as the Northern Lights offered us the most wonderful light show for a four hour period. We were supplied with Hot Chocolate & cookies which kept us warm. The driver would have driven to another location if the weather had not been clear but on this occasion it was not necessary.

Tromsø is an amazing city.
Tromsø is an amazing city. It’s not as small as one may think.. has the right amount of grocery stores, cafés, bars etc. Quite a good nightlife, lots of young students/ tourists around so you’re never alone during solo travel! Tourism and guided activities are exceptional, they provide all the equipment, meals (in some cases) and transportation. Overall you will never be bored in Tromsø, I reccomend everyone to visit even if you’re not a sporty person there’s an activity for every fitness level.

Tromso is in the middle of aurora ring.
Tromso is in the middle of aurora ring. We are here just for northern light. During our visit in March, all road is damped and muddy, not easy to get around. Find a place to stay in warm weather for watching aurora. Getting to mountain by cable car is my favorite activity to see Tromso at night with aurora.

This city is an amazing location to go on a Aurora Borealis tour! Marianne's expertise and commitment to helping travelers achieve their dream of seeing the Aurora is unmatched. I highly recommend booking multiple nights with her like we did. So good to support a local woman owned business.

Amazing location! The express bus to/from the airport drops off right outside. Many tours leave from the Scandic ishavshotel or a 1-5 minute walk away. The hotel is right next to the water and views from the hotel are wonderful.
The breakfast can't be beat. Large selection of items from pancakes and eggs, meats, fish, cheese, fruits, breads, and pastries. Perfect way to fuel up for a day of action.
The room has plenty of space and a comfy bed. This is a great choice of hotel to make the rest of the trip as easy as possible
We stayed at Top View for a week over New Year as a family of 4. On arrival the accommodation was easy to find and central to both the city centre, Arctic Cathedral and Cable Car. Top View was spotless, spacious, had good facilities and the views were so beautiful! We were able to see the Northern Lights from the living room and balcony and had a fantastic view of the Fireworks on New Years Eve! We would definitely book again if visiting Tromso and would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Tromso.
Total ripoff! Extremely expensive for the very low quality and size of the room. The towels were rough and very small and very thin. There's no floor mat. There's no drinking glass, and there are no amenities - not even body lotion. The hotel didn't even have a city map. The staff were unprepared and couldn't provide any information; they told me to find the Northern Lights on my own, didn't know the nearest bus stop to the airport... Choose another option; for this price, there are better options available!
A really nice surprise is that coffee, hot chocolate and tea are 24h free for all guests and the kitchen can be used any time, which adds a welcome option for lunch and dinner since restaurants in Tromso can be quite expensive.
The Rooms are very cosy, the staff helpful and friendly and the common bathrooms were always clean during our whole stay. We also took the Northern Lights Tour offered by the hotel and can also really recommend it.
The house is just outside the city, which means it's easily accessible by car but far enough to see the Northern Lights out on the house's windows. We even got to see the Lights one night from the location. The guest was really friendly, helpful, and reachable. The house was fully equipped and comfy, and it perfectly suited 4 people. We had the best time there and we'll surely come back, maybe during summertime. :)
Gorgeous hotel in a great location. Our sea view room had the most incredible view through wide, panoramic window. We even saw the northern lights just from the hotel window on our first night!
Very comfortable room, under floor heating in the bathroom was lovely.
Delicious breakfast with lots of choices!
The hotel is excellently located by the harbour and a short walk to town.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Our room was lovely with a fantastic view over the harbour and we could see the northern lights.
The sauna was free to use.
Food was plentiful and eating gluten free was no problem at all
*We got an apartment change to another one due to water damage*. It was really good, very nice, well located. We managed to see the northern lights from our balcony which was awesome!!! It was spacious and also Alex (our service rep was super helpful and nice - with very fast response).
Location is super comfortable, accessible to several busses, easy to go to city and airport. Very fast and good support from the host in case of any queries. Highly recommend to visit the city and a stay at the apartment. We had wonderful days looking at the northern lights
Nice hostel, unfortunately you have to share only one toilet and the shower with others, but the place, the price and the rooms were very ok and warm.
I ve found good people and I picked them up in my car to see the northern lights together.
I ve found only good guys
walking distance to the city centre and close to bus station. very clean room. the breakfast was superb. wifi was good. we were on the 4th floor and on our first night i was able to see the northern lights from the window which was so nice.
Good room for the price. Bus stop nearby which gives easy access to the city center. At the camping it's possible to see the northern lights a little bit, which made the place an unforgettable memory for us.
Had a great stay in this beautiful old Norwegian house!Host is super helpful and nice , great suggestions to see the northern lights and to nice places in town!
