If you want to be steps away from entering the jungle and where all the restaurants, this isn’t the best choice for you, but we appreciated the quietness. Luka also has 2 cats and some neighbouring cats that visit throughout the day, they arent aggressive and are fun to watch, but if you’re not into cats then it’s a consideration.

Luka is such a lovely host, always going out of his way to help book excursions, sharing information about Malay culture and foods, taking us to/from the main village, and always being kind. Breakfast is traditional Malay food, which we felt was actually tasty compared to the floating restaurants in the main area. Being further away from the main area, mornings with breakfast overlooking the water was calm and perfect.

We had an amazing stay at Naura Roomstay. Luka our host was super friendly and helpful, gave us good tipps and recommendations for treks in the national park and restaurants to go to. The breakfast which was offered was just amazing, very good local food but also toast with jam, butter etc and fried eggs. The view from the terrace over the river and the jungle was very special and beautiful. Luka offered us the best service, as the roomstay is a little outside of Kuala Tahan, he drove us to the village and picked us up again. The room was clean and provided everything we needed.

It is located a little out of 'town', but Luka kindly gave us a ride each time we needed it.

A lovely modern room in a quiet location overlooking the river. The breakfast provided a great opportunity to sample some Malaysian food for those new to the country, but also toast and eggs if you prefer. Luka was also a great source of information about things to do.

Luka is a marvellous host and he can help you with everything you need from the organization of the excursions to the park to all the other organisational aspects of your stay. Luka, the host, was very knowledgeable and made us feel right at home. Provided us with very good tips and recommendations regarding the area such as places to eat and places to go that is not common. The room and toilet were very clean, the bed was very comfortable and it was spacious enough for the 4 of us. Love the concept of the open dining area and the view was great too. Parking is provided too for those with cars and it is just a short drive to Taman Negara.

Our family had a great 4night stay here. Luka is a wonderful host. we appreciated the casual conversations and lovely traditional breakfasts on the deck overlooking the river along with the other guests. location is great; just outside of town in a quiet area with great views. The tours that Luka suggested and helped us organize were great. rooms were clean, comfortable, good AC and warm shower. being able to use the communal kitchen was a bonus. definitely recommend

Naura Roomstay is a lovely and warm place a little out from the tourist town. We had a great stay, including nice conversations, with the lovely owner (Luka) and his friend Zul. They do everything they can to make your stay great. This includes an amazing breakfast consisting of local dishes and treats, which you enjoy with a view on the river. Such a great and relaxed way to start the day. Vegetarian adjustments were made for us, thank you! The room has all the basics you need and is quite spacious. A decent amount of hanger to hang your clothes on too, which is not a given we have noticed. It was super easy to get to the town with all the tours by being driven or with a guide. No need to worry about it being a little further out. Also easy to walk to a mini market (just 15 mins out). Luka can help you book the tours in advance. We would recommend the day tour to the waterfall. Its an intense hike, but definitely worth to submit yourself in the jungle. Don’t hesitate, book with Naura!

The only disadvantage is the distance to the entrance of the national parc Taman Negara. You cannot walk it, not because of the distance (not too far) but because there is no walking path provision along the main road which makes a potential walk very dangerous next to the passing traffic. It would be great to have such connection for pedestrians.

The breakfast was excellent, provided us extra motivation to stand up in the morning :-). It contained a lot of malaysian kitchen specialties and provided us with enough energy for the day. Also the information provided by Luka in advance was excellent. He helped us understand where we were and what we could do in the area. The rooms were simple but clean with an extraordinary view on the river and the jungle. Finally Luka brought us every time needed to the village of Kuala Tahan with his car - thank you so much!
