How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

One very small issue was the lift was very slow but there may have been an issue with it when we were there?
Loved the decor it was so clean, the bar and food downstairs was fabulous, I cannot fault the room at all! I stayed with a very fussy friend (hygiene etc) and even she was superbly impressed!

Literally nothing...
This is such a lovely hotel, its right in the centre but you can't hear noise from the street at all. The pub staff were welcoming and gave us great tips to explore the city. Breakfast was yummy. We really rated our stay.

That there was no blind over the sky lights. I was experiencing jet lag following a long flight and would have appreciated knowing that there were no blinds. The room was beautiful but I would have switch to a lower room to avoid this on that occasion. It was great that there were eye masks in the honesty hamper though and my partner slept fine regardless of the early morning bright lights.
Lovely hotel in a great location. Loved the bathroom, very spacious and great products. The bed was super comfy and the honest hamper was amazing (sweets, facemasks, drinks etc). Great touches which make a weekend away much more enjoyable than your standard hotel room.

Mirror over sink too far away, difficult to put make up on and for hubby to shave could do with extending magnifying mirror in bathroom , menus for breakfast were grubby could do with new or clean menus

The price could be better 😊
Breakfast was delicious with wide range menu. Our complements to the cook 😊 Location is just in the center of old town with easy access to all attractions, surrounded by numerous bars and restaurants.

Daily evening menu rather average, but plenty of other eating venues very close by.
We were so thrilled with this venue. Absolutely lovely room with a great walk in shower, quiet, wonderful Staff, truly wonderful Sunday roast dinner, great location.

The bathroom was lovely and was spotlessly clean but unfortunately it does lack water pressure so the shower itself was a bit of a struggle. The room overall was beautifully decorated, spacious and very clean. My only negative would be that it was a little dark.
It’s in a great central location with lovely rooms. The staff were all really helpful, attentive and friendly and the breakfast was delicious with good quality produce.

There was nothing to dislike
Everything. From check-in to drinks in the bar followed by a meal in the evening. Great central location for Bristol, easy walking distance to theatre and waterfront area. Beds super comfy, en-suite shower room was beautiful. Breakfast was superb. The pub/bar area is dog friendly and so are some of the bedrooms

Surprisingly stylish and well appointed rooms for a pub / hotel. The location was great too, on a quiet side street but right in the City Centre. Breakfast was good and good value too.

The bathroom mirror is set quite far back which was inconvenient for me as I am very short sighted. A magnified wall mirror that pulls out would be a welcome addition. Our room was opposite other buildings so it wasn't possible to open the curtains until we were fully up & dressed. A voile modesty curtain would really help here

The hot water in my shower was not hot enough, I mentioned it to the staff after the first night but it had not been resolved before I left the next day. The room I had only had a roof window that could not be opened and the room was more like a single room yet not been sold as such.
It was not my first time in this place. It's a cozy inn, relatively new in a good location. The rooms are nicely decorated and the stuff is friendly.

We arrived after midnight, around 00:30, and the receptionist waited for us in the street to guide us inside and get us checked in. Also, the room was really quiet, despite being in central Bristol.

Really spacious, characterful and well-equipped room. The fresh milk in a jug and the little complimentary phial of port were nice touches. Good breakfast cooked to order in the pub restaurant where we also had a very good evening meal the night before.

Made to feel welcome on check in. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in ages. Just a shame it doesn't start until 0700 and I had to be on a train at that time the second day, that was my loss though! The room was really well equipped, spotless and very comfortable.

If I would say one thing, the hotel has no parking. But as there are several parkings nearby, it wasn’t a big issue. We parked at Gallérie Bristol which is quite reasonable choice but also safe enough as the parking is closed after 23:00. And it took only 5-6 min by foot.
Stylish clean room as expected. Staffs were kind and helpful. Very convenient location. Good breakfast.
