How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Hotel is in an excellent location only about a ten minute walk to all the attractions. Staff were very obliging and when we arrived at 12 she checked if our rooms were ready and managed to get us checked in straight away. Rooms were excellent and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

I have an 87 year old husband who need to rest before our daughter's wedding @ 5pm. I had to pay another £30 to book in @ 12pm instead of 3pm. Very disappointed
Breakfast and a snack lunch was really good.

Hmm, can't think of anything...
Lovely location, very quiet (at least my room was) at night so you can properly rest, very clean. And I really really loved their work towards a sustainable hotel (refillable shampoo & soap, switching off air-conditioning when not needed, and so on). For someone with sleep problems I also appreciated the night light in the bathroom (as very bright light during the night can mess with your sleep) and the curtains that won't let any light in during night. And I got a message almost an hour before I had to check in that my room was ready which I appreciated as I was really tired. I'd love to get back next time I'm in Bristol.

Nothing and I will stay there again next time I am on Bristol.
It was in an excellent location, I was meeting with my daughter and we ate in the restaurant 2 nights and it was really good value. Location excellent for local shops and cafe/restaurant. Also close enough to visit the Roman Baths.

Hand/body cream in the bedroom! (A small thing, but always useful when travelling light) Perhaps a few more personal touches.

Everything was great
Location was super - central, clean and quiet. Really great base from which to explore the city; opposite a lovely Belgian beer bar, The Strawberry Thief; down the street from Full Court for outstanding coffee and the best carrot cake I’ve ever had; and within walking distance of everything you want to visit. Have already recommended the hotel to others. Will stay again!

Unable to drop luggage outside the hotel due to a temporary road closure. Only a problem if you have heavy cases as we had a stop off on our way home after a holiday abroad. Very close to car parks so park at the Nelson car park just a 3 min walk no problem with lighter luggage.
Beautiful hotel with very helpful & friendly staff Comfortable well eqipped rooms. Great breakfast too. Close to shopping, bars, restaurants and the theatre in an excellent location.

Room was not ready at time of check in. Was offered a room with 2 singles pushed together when this is not what we paid for. We had to wait longer for our room to be ready as we were not happy to accept the change in room

Bedroom a bit old school / price per night a bit too expensive. Also lobby could be a little refurbished. The view is pretty bad.
The Place is great, the breakfast has many options and is good, the staff is super nice. Parking is also very close. Don't worry if you look for a safe way to park.
