The room pictured on booking.com when I booked was not the room I got.

Good location and good value for money!

I didn't realize that I would be climbing two flights of stairs with my heavy bag. Also, the drapes were all open and the sun was shining so brightly that the room was extremely hot. I had to untie the drapes and open the window to try to cool down the room. Breakfast? I didn't realize there was breakfast. When I left in the morning, I wanted a cup of coffee but it hadn't been plugged in yet at 8:00am. There wasn't anyone there when I checked in but someone was there in the morning. Helped carry one bag down. Thank goodness because I am too old to carry a heavy bag up that narrow staircase. 2nd floor would have been okay but 3rd was just too much.

It was close enough to the subway. I could tell you what was disappointing.

The one member of staff was rude. The younger guy who worked there was nice but the older man with glasses was rude. The property js self check in & self check-out. It’s a hostel so there are always people around and you’re unsure on who is staff and who are travellers. We started walking out the room and the member of staff shouted at us infront of another guest because we didn’t say we were checking out and that he wouldn’t know we were leaving if we didn’t say anything? Again, we had been emailed self check out instructions? If we knew we had to speak to someone we obviously would have. This left a sour taste in our mouth as it was unprofessional.

The room was cool. Beds were comfy. Didn’t realise there was no aircon when we booked which was our mistake but happy with the price. We didn’t expect much because of how cheap it is but we were surprised. The relaxing areas are cute. There were two toilets on our floor to share between 9 rooms but we got up early and went to bed late so was never really an issue for us. The hostel could do with some TLC as there was some missing ceiling tiles in the bathroom and our plug socket was loose in the bedroom, but you get what you pay for.

The calmness of the area.

Respectful and warm welcome. The facilities are clean. The location is easy to access.

Lack of signage. Poor kitchen facilities and social spaces. Bathrooms are shabby. Our beautiful windows were nailed shut, so no fresh air available. The restaurant below had live music until very late, bring earplugs.

Great location in old Montreal. Beautiful heritage building which unfortunately has had a poor renovation into a hostel. Our room had a feature brick wall and huge old, floor to ceiling windows and the bed was comfortable. Friendly staff.

Walls were really thin which was sad when trying to sleep and the employees were so noisy, talked loud very late. I got woken up by an employee vacuuming at like 8am on a Friday morning for some reason that was awful!

Sound isolation is not perfect.

We are coming second time. Location - excellent. Excellent choice if you need Bed&Breakfast (but breakfast you should arrange by yourself). Excellent choice for tourists.

it was good to have disposable slippers and own towel under the feet in the shower, the towel under the feet in the shower was shared and it is not hygienic

we were tired and had the opportunity to take a shower from the road and sleep in a clean and comfortable bed.

The shower was really unsanitary, and we weren't able to open the window to let some fresh air in the room.

The host is an exceptional guy, he knows what he is doing. Location is just perfect, for this kind of price you can never find any better. Just remember to pick up the crumbs from the floor if you are eating there.

The washroom wasn't to my personal liking but it did it for a night.

The place was decent for the price. Not the most beautiful place but it does it for a night in Montreal. It's near restaurants, and walkable distance to Chinatown in Montreal.

Parking meter doesn’t work, although online application never fails. Parking often available nearby.

Great location, staff speak many languages (French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, …), Vibe is good, Meeting new people of different walks of life, many bathrooms and showers.

There is no soundproofing, and you can hear everything in the building, small shower area, and my room has no window, but they should've write it in the room description. They didn't allow me to store my bags later than 5 pm after checkout.

It's cheap and in a very good location, the staff is kind.

It was hard to get a shower, as water was almost not dripping. You have to stand full of soap and wait until at least something will come out from the water tap.

I liked the architecture it was quite a good loft. The facilities were sufficient, but old. Some parts of the room was destroyed, probably a long time ago.

When I arrived, the room was over heated, this also impeached of taking down the heat I carried into my feet.

Since I arrived after 11h15 pm, I consider a good thing to be notified to my email with the right info to be able to access my room at that time. This let me breath better, I was somehow beaten by the long travel and even couldn't take a cold soft drink before taking bed to relax.

The room given the first time lack of heat, if I remember well, I didn't see any heater inside. Lucky me, I just stay 2 nights.

The room given the firs time had furnitures to hang clothes or to put in places some things carrying. I liked the fact that washroom near my room has a lot of space, mostly when it comes to take out clothes, hanging them, hang the towel given by the hotel service and take the shower. Only this makes the customer to be on time for an office appointment. First time booking, price filled up my expectations.
