Dating back to 1852, this elegant hotel is 5 minutes’ walk from Gothenburg Central Station. It offers a peaceful inner courtyard, free WiFi and free coffee/tea and homemade cakes each afternoon. I would rather have a cozy, comfortable and clean room at a reasonable price, than a huge room at a higher price. The hotel is beautiful and the location can't be beat. The staff were super-friendly. Breakfast was great. Everything was top-notch. I haven't been this pleased with a hotel in years. Thank you!

A beautiful little hotel on the tiny island of Donsö, with very clean and comfortable rooms. The restaurant is very good, and the breakfast buffet is spectacular. We happened to be there when the fiercest storm in a quarter century (Hans) hit the west coast of Sweden, so we were forced to stay inside. Isbolaget was so cozy and comfortable that we were happy to do so, even though we didn’t get to explore the island and its neighbor, Styrsö. The staff is warm and helpful as well.
