This intimate Uppsala hotel is housed in a 19th-century building, 100 metres from the Uppsala Cathedral. It’s location just a stone’s throw from the cathedral. The bed was enormous and super comfy - Probably the best night’s sleep we’ve had in a hotel! Lovely bathroom and relaxing bath and we really liked the soaps. The breakfast in the morning was nicely presented with good choice too.

Dating back to 1930, this intimate hotel is within 5 minutes’ walk of Uppsala Cathedral and Uppsala Castle. Akademihotellet’s fresh rooms have a flat-screen satellite TV, private bathroom and desk. The location could not be better! It was right where you want to be! Walk to everything worth seeing.

Located in Uppsala city centre, this hotel offers soundproofed rooms with satellite TV and free WiFi. The hotel staff were great and very helpful and positive. The room and bathroom were good size, comfortable and clean. The beds (two side-by-side twin beds) were very comfortable. The room didn’t have air conditioning but windows were openable and temperature mostly comfortable, with a fan in the closet we used a couple times (iron and ironing board there too). Plenty of room to unpack. There is a “conference room” on the lowest floor which is very comfortable for late night or early morning reading / internet browsing. Our price included both breakfast and evening meal, both very good, especially the breakfasts. The dining spaces were quite crowded but there was adequate, hard-working staff to quickly clear and clean tables, as well as to refill everything. Overflow could also go to the conference room or to some tables outside near the main entrance. The hotel parking spaces were full when we arrived but there is an underground garage (separate business) only 100 meters away which was actually cheaper (165 crowns per 24 hours). The location was very good - about 1 km from the river / beginning of the old town, with the newer main shopping streets and railway station even closer. Uppsala is a wonderful town for a weekend visit. I also recommend a drive down to Sigtuna and some of the nearby castles / palaces.

The staff were so nice and friendly, the food was tasty and lots of choice for breakfast. It’s in a good place of Uppsala, easy to get to and not far from the train station.
