We slept in à châtelet. It was cold in the morning but we did not freeze. If you're cold you can light a in the fireplace inside. The spaghetti bolognese was excellent, the manager is half Italian!

Great location for Butare! Quality is on a level above average for the Rwanda countryside. Valet Parking is offered free of charged, if you inform in advance. He offered us a big breakfast ($7/person) served in the apartment. It is easy to walk into the town, with mostly pavement all the way to the apartment. I would have chosen this place if I’m coming back.
