This is a fantastic location with some of the more interesting hiking and climbing routes in Norway, near the Jotunheimen Nasjonalpark. We choose the accomodation in the "Swiss chalet" and this allow us to save a lot of money :-) without losing the magnificence of the place and additional services provided by the hotel like for example the very good dinner (one of the best we have in Norway). The Chalet is really beautiful and extremely functional. Clean and full of services, like the shower and the drying room.

We recently stayed two nights here and had a fantastic experience. The staff are all highly friendly, courteous, and hospitable. Initially, we could not make it all the way to the hotel in our car as the road leading to the hotel was closed due to severe rainstorms in the days leading up to our stay. Nonetheless, the hotel sent out staff members to meet us at a pick up point and drive us to the hotel. They also had staff drive us to the ferry in Gjendesheim to catch the first morning ferry to Besseggen. We absolutely would not have made it to our incredible hike at Besseggen if they were not willing to be so accommodating to us. They even had staff drive us back to our car once our stay was over! The dinner at the hotel was wonderful, and my friend and I especially loved their selection of local beers and aquavit. All in all, if you are hiking Besseggen or embarking on other adventures in Jotunheimen National Park, I could not recommend Bessheim Fjellstue og Hytter highly enough!

I was passing through the area and stayed for three nights. I was immediately captivated by the view of the fjord, then stayed for the excellent food from the kitchen and the lovely staff. if I had the time I would have stayed for a week.

The town is very cute. The room is better than expected. I like the traditional and authentic atmosphere so much. I enjoy the time staying here.
