During COVID, the breakfast that is brought to your room is usually bad, but at Borgo Retrosi di Amatrice, they brought us a delicious high quality breakfast to the room that made my day!!

This is a wonderful rural inn with a terrific restaurant. We booked it because it was close to several places in Abruzzo we planned to visit, and because of its promising menu. And we were not disappointed. The owner is warm and eager to help with anything. When we checked in, I commented that the day's menu included tripe, which i do like. that evening, our waiter started by asking if i was the guest who wanted tripe. and i did.

Lovely old but well-maintained building at the center of the village, with lovely views across the hills and mountains of Gran Sasso. Very friendly and helpful staff. Truly exceptional restaurant as part of the hotel, serving a fantastic dinner and very good authentic Italian breakfast.
