I only missed an inside swimming pool which would make our stay even more perfect since it was too cold to have a swim in the swimming pool outside. Offering a-la-carte restaurant and bar Hotel Ostrea is located in Ston, just 100 metres from the entrance to Old Town and right next to the beach. This is a really nice old school hotel in Mali Ston, an unexpected location. Hotel & staff are first rate. Mali Ston is where to stay if you want to be in a quiet location away from the teaming hoards. They have an associated restaurant next door that is also very good. Staff is professional in an old school European way. Stay here and hike the wall (1.5 hour or so) over to Ston to see that worthwhile site, then walk bask just 15 minutes on the road after you have had your fill of tourists. This place is a gem and a wonderful find for those who appreciate quality & time well spent without drama. It's quite a value for what you actually get!

Convenient parking (3EUR/Day), early check in was possible, reception staff extra curteous, bright and spacious room with balcony and sea view, ample breakfast with many choices, beach front. We were upgraded to a larger suite with the most magnificent view over the pool and sea. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful with a wide variety of options. Dinner was fabulous and excellent value. The hotel is set in a quiet location with vineyards all around and spectacular sea views. Beautiful pool but it was too early in the season to swim and take advantage of it. Plenty of parking available. We would have loved to stay longer!
