Nice hotel and location, was good for touring Angus. Disappointed in a number of small things - eg no croissants for breakfast or continental breakfast, no bottles of water in the room, no lounge for relaxing in. Room window was about one metre from the atrium of the hotel entrance and completely obliterated our view. When asked for preferences on booking we requested a golf course facing room but that was not allocated for us. Staff were courteous and well mannered.

Our room "Dangerpoint" was as described very spacious and very comfortable with lovely nautical theme décor. Walk-in shower is amazing. Room exceptionally clean and well equipped. Sea view is amazing as is location of hotel. Dinner was delicious and menu selection ample choice with smaller portion option. Bar is very rustic as is restaurant with coastal, seaside theme. Town is great base for touring Angus and Kingdom of Fife.

Nice hotel - ideal if you need to visit Angus or the Glens. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Looks like they have recently update the bathroom which is good. Hotel was a little quiet but the owner and his family were very welcoming and friendly. There is an on-site restaurant and a bar which is not too busy. Good breakfast (extra cost).

We stayed for one night while visiting Angus for the Doors Open Weekend. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Montrose and the surrounding area. It is central, but also quiet. The hotel has a carpark with plenty of space. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. There was a good selection of food at breakfast.

We bought from the supermarket close by for breakfast, though we could have eaten at the restaurant there. We also went fishing in the ponds and it was great :) we caught two rainbow trouts and then had them for lunch and dinner! Loved also having the jacuzzi :)

Roy, the owner and staff, were very friendly and polite. We ate in both nights and the food was great.. Mostly Indian food, but it was all delicious.There was also some European dishes also Location is only about 5 minutes' drive to the V&A museum,Discovery, and the city centre.. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Fisherman's Tavern. The pub itself is cosy with good food and vegan options. Arriving, I was greeted warmly and offered a table for an evening meal. The room is a good size, with a good bathroom and a lovely view onto the street (very quiet, and feels like a village). My only issue was how warm the room was - a good heat for most people but I couldn't find a way to cool it down, although the staff were friendly enough to just ask. Broughty Ferry itself is a lovely area with the feeling of a fishing village, especially by the river, which is where the Fisherman's Tavern is. Getting to the Tavern from the train station or by bus from Dundee is a pretty short walk, and it's close to Broughty Castle and a small marina, highly recommend on a summer evening for a post-dinner stroll.
