But... most remarkable is the atmosphere which is given by the hosts Isabelle and Fabian. Meeting them and you feel immediately welcome. There is no Ibis - or Accor hotel which can come any close to this level. The hotel has many old elements left, so everything remains in style. The rooms are spacious compared to most French hotels. The Wi-Fi is fast. There is enough (free) parking and the breakfast with (local) fruit perfect.

Elegant, spacious bathroom, deep closets and a panoramic view of the countryside from my room. Staff were all gracious and helpful. The location is perfect. It is surrounded by natural beauty and historic buildings. Vezelay and the this area of Burgundy is truly beautiful. Everyone I encountered was friendly and generous with their time.

Free parking is on the other side of the river along the road, a three minute walk away (across footbridge). The apartment is cosy with a large dining room table and beautiful views on all sides.

Everything! The Rive Gauche is on the "other side" of the fabulous Saint Lucy Spa, and I was expecting something a little less. This establishment has everything to be proud of, including the wonderful gardens and view I had from my room. I would recommend this as your starting point for your barge holiday. You will not be disappointed, unless you just must stay on the "rive droit"

Plus the owners wanted to ensure that we maximised our enjoyment and experience especially given the short time we had to explore in the region. We discussed scenic routes, places of interest and dining places. The owners and supporting staff (Mary & Riann) were extremely sincere in their interactions with us. The chateau’s facade is Georgian in style and yet it embodies a post-modern art house. It was a delight to explore the interiors of the chateau.

Throughout the building the quality and workmanship of the restoration is 1st class. Foremost The entire staff are so attentive and helpful it was really a pleasure.
