I visited Santa Maria and stayed at 7 different, equivalent hotels during the week. Design Suites is the best hotel. The staff is helpful and very nice. I had tv problems and the manager organized help immediately and solved the problem. The cleaning is very good. Overall, the maintenance of the hotel is good. During the week there were several power outages on the island. In this hotel, the business has worked without problems. This indicates a good organization and committed staff. I will gladly come back to the "best hotel" on the island.

We normally stay in hotels but when we saw this place we thought why not give it a try, we were not disappointed and would highly recommend it, it is extremely loud between 10pm and 12pm but you are warned before you book we slept very well. The breakfast is very good we were very satisfied, the staff are the best bit of all they are all friendly and are happy at their work, they can't do enough for you. Lastly Dory in the office is the biggest asset to this business she did so much for us while we stayed and always checked in with us to make sure we were happy with our booked trip's which she helped us with she helped us have the best holiday.

The staff was very attentive and helpful with anything that we needed. Breakfast was good with a good variety of food available. At lunchtime, we had tasty and cheep options available. The room had air conditioning, perfectly clean room and beds were comfortable. Slightly further away from the beach but a walkable distance and closer to the locals than to the turistival part of Santa Maria. Very quiet too. We felt at home.

Located in Santa Maria, Hotel Morabeza offers accommodation with 3 outdoor swimming pools. The property has a fitness centre, game room, 3 bars, free WiFi and a 24-hour front desk. Best location in Santa Maria very close to the best beach in the island. Caring and goodwilling personal. Nice activities, organized by the hotel, especially we liked Healthy Tao on the beach. Very nice, kind and intelligent teacher.

The rooms were clean and bright. The bed was very comfortable. USB plus made it easy to charge everything. The breakfast and dinners were delicious and a reasonable price to add onto your stay. Staff was really helpful for addressing any issues in a timely fashion and helping to set up activities. They also gave great recommendations for food and things to do. The hotel is walking distance to the beach. Our room overlooked a lot, not nice in itself, but the benefit was we had an unobstructed view of the sunsets!

Situated 300 metres from Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows in Santa Maria, Porto Antigo Hotel BB welcomes guests with a restaurant and bar. Rooms have a TV. The room was great, kept clean and refreshed. The pool was also excellent and very clean. The location was perfect in Santa Maria. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome for our entire stay.

Located in Santa Maria, 1.2 km from Nazarene Church, Hotel LIVVO Budha Beach has a number of amenities including a terrace, a shared lounge, a bar and free WiFi. Very nice stay close to the cemetery beach. Staff was kind as well.

Hotel MiraBela is a 3-star bed and breakfast located in the centre of Santa Maria and within 100 metres from the beach. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with a balcony. Everything, from Staff, to the room, to the breakfast was all perfect. The windows are very soundproof, so it was no issue to stay there also during the noisy weekend.
