One of Vancouver Island’s most comfortable and welcoming stay experiences, the Old House Hotel has it all: location; spacious, individually designed suites; inviting amenities such as kitchenettes and... It was our first time staying at this property - the staff were lovely. There was a bit of confusion at check-in as our friends arrived earlier than we did and as we made the booking they were unable to check-in without us initially. The front desk staff were able to speak with me over the phone and following their protocols, were able to check-in our friends by using their CC as the card on file. Also, we were given a complimentary upgrade from a 1 bedroom suite to a 2 bedroom suite which was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated.

Nice host. They even left a welcome (non-alcohol) sparkling drink in the refrigerator. B and B does not get much better than this. Very nice breakfast.

Offering mountain bike storage and an on-site bike shop, this restored heritage hostel is located in Cumberland, on Vancouver Island. It is 22 mi from the biking trails at Mount Washington. Gorgeous hostel, very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Had everything we needed. Cute little guest garden where we sat and listened to a concert being hosted next door. Great community. Made me want to move in! I was really sad I only booked one night. Lots of interesting things to do around the place, amazing local trails, restaurants and a local museum. Highly recommend a visit to Cumberland and this hostel, it was one of my trip highlights.
