Set on wooden cabins built on trees, Reserva Natural Tanimboca offers jungle lodging only 11 km from Leticia city. Breakfast is provided, and fishing and wildlife watching activities are available. The 11th Indigenous community is 3 minutes away by car. Loved sleeping in the treehouse in the jungle. It is quite a walk to the treehouse from reception, but staff helped carry our bags. No electricity, but we were provided a large flashlight. We also brought our own flashlights which came in handy. We went on the night walk and loved it. We saw many frogs and spiders. Carmilo was a wonderful guide on our night walk. Great breakfast and the owner shared other fruit from the trees. Great friendly staff.

My guide Angel was super knowledgable and helped me with whatever I wished to do or see. You can see the the amount of thought and care that has gone into the construction of the accommodation. You can watch the "babaleches" hop from tree to tree as you relax in the communal area and enjoy a home cooked meal. You really feel at peace with nature in Tucuchira.

This place is a beautiful but rustic spot next to the Amazon river. The food was very good, usually fish from the river. At night the jungle birds and frogs sing you to sleep. It’s not a place for the squeamish, we had a tarantula on our ceiling, but the mosquito nets work well and you really get a chance to be surrounded by the Amazon rain forest. The tours they offer are very reasonably priced, but there are also plenty of places to just hang out and enjoy the nature. The common areas were very social and we had some great conversations with the other guests. Also, the staff was especially welcoming and made us feel at home right away. It was really cool to be able to talk to people who live in the Amazon and hear a little bit about daily life here. Overall, this was a huge highlight for us.

Omshanty Jungle Lodge offers 5 bungalows in over 2 hectares of land surrounded by nature. A daily American breakfast with tropical organic fruits is available. Regional flavours can be ordered at a restaurant run by locals and located outside the property. The staff were very helpful and the spanish omlet I had for dinner was the best I've ever eaten! Having a full cabin to myself a bit apart from the others with only the sound of the jungle was magic.
