Quaint early in the mornings.
Quaint early in the mornings. Very busy after that with people loitering around, but still enjoyable for the experience of flea markets, outdoor eateries, the metro station and the views up to the Acropolis, esp from the rooftop restaurants there.

We loved this square and surrounding area.
We loved this square and surrounding area. Tinned of restaurants and shops and a wonderfully festive vibe!
Make sure to eat at Bairaktaris- a favourite among locals and take in the views from 360 Cafe or Cityzen.

Very busy during the evening night time.
Very busy during the evening night time. Imagine Oxford Street and double the amount of people. Worth visiting stopping and having a lunch/dinner and a drink in one if the restaurants with life music. Amazing lighting and overall lovely atmosphere. Friendly and caring staff. Even on my own I felt safe, welcomed and have had a very good time, just chilling and watching crowds pass by.

If you like bargaining...this is the place to be around.
First take a walk around and checkout the restaurants before settling in on one.
People are very friendly.... and visitors should also show respect o the locals.
This place is magic with so much going on..... so take plenty of pictures.

It was neat to experience, but I didn't find any trinkets I couldn't live without. Also, be very careful about your wallet, purse, backpack, etc. There are pickpockets (who travel in gangs. One to distract you and the others to steal from you...) and pushy street vendors galore.

Includes two churches and full of atmosphere:beats Syntagma Square hands down.I wouldn't eat too close to here if I were you. There is a great restaurant behind the little Mitropolis Cathedral not far away with music a great view of this lovely little church(ignore the didactic behemoth behind it and the food and service were excellent.

Everything was excellent, clean, well equipment and new. We had amazing stay at Bed in Athens. It is very close to Monastiraki square and all well known restaurants, coffee houses. Pysri area is also very nice location to stay. I would highly recommend to stay at Bed in Athens. We always love to travel Greece, thanks to Greek people :)
I like the cleanliness and safe place to stay. The hotel is near to Acropolis, restaurants, markets, monastiraki Square, good location the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I love it
Location couldn't be better, Monastiraki square is just a short walk away. The apartment was clean and equipped with everything we needed. Communication with the host was good and we had all the information about the apartment in good time before we checked in.
The location is right at the heart of the touristic area of Athens. Restaurants and coffee shops just outside the hotel, and just minutes away from Monastiraki Square and the metro station.
The hosts were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. I felt like home as soon as I arrived.
Free water at the lobby.
The view from the upper terrace was incredible, including the Acropolis Hill.
Very quiet at night.
Very clean hotel and rooms. Beautiful design of the rooms . All was as on pictures. We had 2 rooms double and family loft both were great. The staff is very friendly and helpful . Great location 2 minuets to the metro and Monastiraki square , parking also 2 minutes walk. A lot of good restaurants in 2 minutes walking distance and open until late . Supermarket and bakeries also in the same area .
The view of the Acropolis from the window was excellent, and observing activities in Monastiraki square...
The Hotel is ideally located, close to shopping and in walking distance of most of the Archaeological sites.
The staff is extremely helpful and patient. The rooms were clean and equipped with all the amenities.
The breakfast was great. Wonderful variety, convenient, great service, delicious
The location was great. Convenient to the train station, Hop off and on bus stop, Monastiraki Square, restaurants and shops.
Hotel was clean, comfortable, and convenient
The balcony provided a clear view of the Acropolis. It was about a block away from Monastiraki Square, perhaps the most exciting center for eating and nightlife in Athens (though I am too old for the nightlife part). At night from the balcony you can hear the beat from the nightlife but close the balcony door and it disappears for a quiet sleep. The building from the outside and the first floor look shabby but the apartment is beautifully updated and comfortable.
The location was great, in a busy section near Monastiraki square. The apartment was adorable, everything we needed was there. Had some questions and the host responded immediately. I would highly recommend staying here!
The thing we loved most about this hotel is its location. It's located in a narrow one-way street which is quiet, away from the bustles. However, it's only a few minutes walk to Varvakios Market and the bustling Monastiraki Square where you can find tons of shops and restaurants. It is also a walking distance to Plaka area and to the Acropolis. Besides its location, the front desk staff were very helpful. Checking in and out was quick; everything went smoothly.

Prices are better in Athens than say, Thessaloniki, and Monastiraki is where you'll find sales on shoes, clothes and linen
Shopping in May has the advantage of end of winter sales. I saw ankle boots go from 45E to 25E. Prices are better in Athens than say, Thessaloniki, and Monastiraki is where you'll find sales on shoes, clothes and linen.
