    We went twice.

We went twice. First time for the main service on the Sunday morning, which was pretty special. Second time we took the guided tour which was about 90 minutes and really added to our enjoyment and appreciation of the Cathedral and its long history.

Make sure to go there before 3pm as there are exhibits in the Cathedral that close before the final closing time. Tours are offered on the hour. Lots of great information about the long history of the church!

The view of Winchester Cathedral from the picture window in the room is outstanding. The hotel isn’t overlooked, it’s right in the centre of things, with lovely staff and is amazingly good value for money in an expensive town like Winchester.

The room is quite large and although the furniture was a bit tired looking, the room itself was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. We very much appreciated the high quality bed linen. The loction is superb, we loved the view of the winchester cathedral. The hotel staff, without fail are welcoming and the buffet breakfast is vast and varied. In fact, rare are the hotels that offer so many milk options for their clients! (Oat milk, soya milk, skim milk, full fat milk...)

    * Location of hotel, with an exceptional view of Winchester Cathedral * Willingness of staff to help * Comfortable room (the deluxe double) * Good-quality breakfast * Proximity to town centre *Pre-ordered prosecco was presented as a complementary gesture, as it was delayed by a day (and thus spoiled the surprise on check-in)

The Hotel was charming and full of character. Excellently located for Winchester Cathedral and town. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Parking available for an additional charge, but well worth it as the City car parks were full. Lovely gardens which would be delightful in warmer weather.

A royal breakfast in a magnificent dining-room, a spacious and tranquil twin bedroom overlooking garden, bathroom - new bath with overhead shower. Alex was a superb host who recommended Wykeham Arms to eat, and helped us visit Winchester Cathedral, and park very nearby free of charge. It was both gracious living and homely, and we would love to return to this super place.
