Pilsberģu krogs is situated in a quiet and green area, 300 metres from the sea shore and offers homely rooms with free Wi-Fi. The property houses a restaurant. The place is ideal for those who want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of big cities, seek tranquillity and have a nice time in nature. The property is a 5-minute walk from a beach with a cliff where there are not many tourists at all. A very good place in Latvia to travel with your dog. Even with a baby pram (carrying it from/to the cliff) also manageable. As for the hotel - it has very helpful and friendly staff, beautiful wooden furnishings, nice infrastructure around the property for staying and playing with children, very tasty and reasonably priced on-site restaurant with local dishes and it is very clean. The breakfasts were very varied - the best breakfasts we had in Latvia :).

Excelent personell, home made breakfast with berries from garden, excelent cheese cakes on breakfest, home made. I managed 3, my yonger generation up to 8!!! Fresh smoked fish in breakfest! Just enjoy!!!

Second time visiting, as a room happened to open up last second. Hosts are very helpful, central location, and very reasonable rates make Portoss a great pick. Breakfast available for a small fee is warm and filling. Appreciate that they welcomes our small dog too!

On the shore of Lake Ciecere, this family-run guesthouse offers modern rooms with lake views and free Wi-Fi. Leisure options at Radi include a Latvian wet sauna, water sports and fishing. This place is literally in the middle of nowhere, and that's why we chose it. You certainly need a car to reach, otherwise seems impossible. The property is huge and it's all green and luscious. The backdrop is a huge lake and there are three "pontons" you can swim from (if you are ok with the temperature of the water). It's absolutely stunning and it's a pleasure to walk around. There's a breakfast buffet every morning. It's quite decent and has a bit of everything. We thought there was a kitchen (as it's kind of a campsite) but to our surprise, it's a private kitchen. They allowed us to use it to warm some food but there's not such facility in the main house. There are a few more houses around that are fully equipped. It's an amazing place!

Just 100 metres from the beach in the Gulf of Riga, this modern wooden building in Kaltene, 6 km south of Roja, offers panoramic sea views and a sauna. We booked a room for three adults. The weather was very hot and our room was very sunny with little ventilation. We thought that perhaps we would have to go elsewhere, but the owner offered us a room that was meant for four people in a much cooler place at no extra charge. We really appreciated this and offered to pay extra, but she would not accept our payment. Thank you.
