Hospitality, exceptional. Breakfast, superb. Room size quite small, a bit uncomfortable -but the availability of the downstairs lounge area fit the bill very nicely. The cheery innkeeper was a wonderful source of information, and even went extra by driving us to the bus stop up the hill. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
The old tavern part of the Inn is full of charm. A lot of locals come there to eat and have a pint, which says a lot!!!! Food was fantastic. Large portions of home cooked meals. We stayed in the auxiliary - motel style part at the back/side of the Old Inn. Room was very spacious with good bedding Pricey for what you get, but the location is great and there is not a lot of accommodation right in Tintagel
This was a no breakfast guest house which suited us and was therefore reflected in such a good price for a really superior guest house. All the extras supplied for the room and shower room was the nicest l have ever seen. A n above quality guest house , which was quiet with a friendly host who couldn’t do enough for you we usually stay in premiere inn in Newquay but not anymore
Breakfast fabulous, made my favourite porridge just the way I like it, and I had fresh fruit, yoghurt, coffee and toast. my friend had cooked breakfast and enjoyed it too. owners very welcoming, attentive and most helpful, particularly with helping us select restaurants to book as it was proving a challenge. We liked the fact that the guest house is on the outskirts of the town therefore quiet and short 15/20mins walk into town for dinner. Bus stop outside the guest house too, taking us to Padstow, Truro and the airport.
It is fun to stay in an historic inn and experience British history. This inn is located in the historic center of this tiny village and has a thatched roof and an old-style pub with good food. There isn't parking at the inn, but a public parking lot is across the street. We loved walking around the church yard across the street and exploring the historic gravestones.
Absolutely amazing place way above our expectations. Great queit location with short drive to all main parts of Cornwall. Room was lovely , playground for kids and their own tavern 😍. Yeah tavern it makes such a difference. You would think it will be pricey but actually there is no need of looking for a place to have a nice dinner and drink. Food was delicious and service was great😍 Will come back for sure when we go to Cornwall again. Camping site and facilities looks really good as well. Might come back with the tent next year 🙂
Amazing location overlooking the river. The attention to detail was spot on. Dave and Donna are amazing hosts ( leave 10 minutes extra to leave the hotel in case you bump into Dave and he starts chatting). We were a last minute booking so we had a room without a river view. To make up for it we were given a table for breakfast in the Bay window over lookinng the river. It was that attention to detail that sets this Guest house above most.
Loved how different it was as a whole experience. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable and the bathroom exceeded expectations. Plenty of sockets available. Nice tea and a tea pot available in the room. We had dinner in the Jolly Hangman Tavern, service was swift and friendly and the food plentiful and reasonably priced. We had breakfast in the Chapel which was a nice setting and the food again was very good. Wish we could have stayed longer, maybe next time.
The Guest House and staff were fabulous as was the food. This was booked for a special occasion (40th Birthday) and the Gannet Inn didn’t disappoint
