A 9-minute drive from Darlington, The Chequers Inn offers well-appointed rooms and a restaurant and bar. In the village of Dalton-on-Tees, it offers free parking and Wi-Fi.

This inn is a 4-minute drive from Croft Circuit, home of regular motorsport events. It is around 30 minutes’ drive from the North York Moors National Park.

Most important for us was that the Hotel is very dog friendly. The Hotel room was large with a TV - WIFI and tea making facilities and lots of attention to detail, the bed was comfy and we both slept very well. The young serving staff were super and evenings in the bar with our dogs was out of this world. We befriended some locals both young and old and we had a super super evening and a great meal all at super price. Breakfast in the morning was a full English served by the owner who took time out of her busy day to talk to us. Thanks you all for a wonderful stay, and we will be back.

The Receptionist and the Young Ladies who served me at both dinner and breakfast were lovely. The room was a good size and was a good standard, to be fair I've never had complaint with the overall standard of BW Hotels. Large car park, and the hotel was relatively easy to find, and not far from the A1M either. Breakfast was of a good standard

Really comfortable and the staff are super friendly. Resturant is excellent - we had dinner and were very happy with the quality of the food, the ambience and the cost. Breakfast was al la carte and very good quality - lots of choice.

Breakfast and dinner were excellent, could not fault any of the meals. The staff were friendly and helpful, could not have asked for more. The room was comfortable and warm, plenty of storage, wardrobes and draws.

This is a very grand hotel in a lovely spot, with a striking entrance on arrival. Our room was nice, clean and characterful, with an (undressed) four-poster bed, modern bathroom and usual facilities. The food at both breakfast and dinner was lovely and a little different from the usual. The dining room is fairly informal. The staff for the most part were polite and helpful.

A very good dinner, the staff were most helpful. Breakfast was equally well presented and enjoyed The bedroom was fine , a comfortable night's sleep, I last stayed in the hotel "last century" and was impressed by the facilities . A pleasant walk to and from the station, Will hopefully stay with you again shortly.

The location and the inside of the hotel were all nice, and the staff were friendly and welcoming so it was comfortable for us to stay. The breakfast and dinner that we had were all a great size and were delicious as well and we really liked the room where we ate too.

Lovely Roman fort and bridge ruins in the village - worth a visit.. Nice river walk. Pretty setting. Although heavy traffic! Coaching inn dating back to 1500 - which is still in the process of being restored - bit by bit! It looks like a slow project but what has been finished is nicely done. Bar area rustic and lovely. Upstairs for rooms. Beautifully furnished, clean and very comfortable bed.
