I had an amazing time staying in Porto Santo Destination hostel! It was so calm and quiet, perfect space to wind down and especially during low season you get the ultimate perk of having basically no people at the beaches ;) Sofia the host was super friendly and helpful... couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Nice kitchen and facilities! Just keep in mind that you have to do groceries etc in the centre, as there's only a small restaurant around (which is cheap and good though). And it's a different island than Madeira itself, not everyone may know this ;)

Modern & Recycled Guest House ligger i Machico, 200 m fra Sao Roque-stranden, og har udsigt over byen. Der er fælles køkken og terrasse. Design af hotellet og værelserne. Hotellet ligger centralt, tæt på vandet. At folk efterlader mad og andre ting til andre gæster, de ikke når at bruge.

FX Pena ligger i Funchal, 2 km fra Marina do Funchal. Der er udflugtsskranke, ikkeryger-værelser, have, gratis wi-fi og terrasse. Nice owner, clean shared bathrooms, fully equipped shared kitchen, 10 minutes walk to the centre. Good price. We were quite happy!

Boutique-vandrerhjemmet Santa Maria Hostel ligger i en traditionel og historisk bygning i Funchals gamle bydel og er indrettet i vintage-stil. Santa Maria Hostel is located in the heart of Funchal, and its old charming neighborhood that is full of bars, restaurants and shops. The rooms are really comfortable, nice and have nice touches, as well as the whole hostel. The staff was amazing, they helped us a lot, recommended great car-rentals and were very nice and warm people.

Casa De Cha Prazeres ligger i Prazeres, 25 km fra Porto Moniz' naturlige swimmingpools, og tilbyder indkvartering med have, gratis privat parkering, fælles opholdsstue og terrasse. Felix (the owner) gave us warm welcome, the room was clean, with comfy bed and newly renovated bathroom. The breakfast was great and served by the owner himself - he has a true passion for what he does and is very good in it. Felix also gave us great tip for a restaurant 4 minutes away, where we had amazing meal (great variety of vegan/veggie dishes as well as local fish). We hope to stay there again, once we return to Madeira.
