ゲストハウスでたらめ荘 has free bikes, garden, a shared lounge and bar in Yamakami. I had a really great time in this place, thanks to Konbu, Michi and Egosan who are amazing hosts. I was looking for a place to stay for a few days to do nothing but rest and this place was perfect. I really felt at home, the living room was my lair. There is a grocery store 15 minutes by walk but to be fair I didnt go there since you can ask Egosan to cook for you (1000 ¥/meal). And let me tell you that he is a great cook. On the first evening he asked me what is my favorite Japanese dish and he made it the following day ! Since I was the only customer during my stay we spend time together, they even bring me with them to go to a good local restaurant and then they surprised me by going to a bakery since I said I wanted to try Japanese dessert. Once again, I had a really great time !

Beautiful cozy guest house in hikone. Quite place next to the river and lake. There's also a kind of kitchen. Really confy beds too. The owner really friendly and English speaker. I really suggest if you want to visit hikone castle and relax

Set in Nagahama, 14 km from Hikone Castle, 長濱元浜町宿場 片原楽家 offers air-conditioned accommodation and a terrace. Offering a bar, the property is located within 8.9 km of Maibara Station. The place is just beautiful and it was one of my best stays during my trip so far. The host is very friendly, caring and hospitable. I felt very comfortable and at home from the very beginning. In the evenings, when it happens, we enjoyed a little get together with the other guests. The rooms are well organized, spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Each bed has a sliding element that can be locked. The showers and sanitary facilities are also very well maintained and there you find everything you need. The accommodation is in a super location, close to the train station, to the beautiful alleys of Nagahama, restaurants, bars, supermarket and also to the castle. Nagahama in general is a hidden gem. I highly recommend to leave Kyoto or other places to come here for a trip. You definitely won't regret it. Furthermore you can go by train for a day trip to Shizugatake which has very nice view over two lakes. Or rent a bike to ride or just walk along the biwa lake. There are many things to do. I stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect. I will definitely come back. (: Thank you for making it so special.

Biwa-Lakeside Cottage B B Dylan er staðsett í Minami-komatsu, 24 km frá Sanzen-in-hofinu, og býður upp á gistingu með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði, sameiginlegri setustofu og verönd. We loved how accomodating and nice the staff were they were always making sure the space/ our room was tidy and neat and provided us with fresh linen, towels and robes daily. They cooked us meals and treated us like family! The location is beautiful right on the lake with amazing sunrises and sunsets and just a short 10 minuet walk to the station or a 15 minuet walk to 711. We honestly can’t fault anything about this property and can’t wait to stay again!
