In the Lake District village of Elterwater, the independent Elterwater Hostel offers dormitories and private rooms, with a communal lounge and dining area. Nestled in Langdale Valley, this hostel also boasts free WiFi, home-cooked food, cycle storage and is also just 2 minutes’ walk from the local pub. Breakfast was great with lots of options. The bathrooms were emaculate!

Wayfarers Independent Hostel has private twin rooms with en suite facilities, as well as dormitories with bunk beds. All have lockers, bedside lights and bedding provided, with towels available for hire. Super nice! Best hostel so far. The facilities are great, the hosts are humble and super friendly. Facilities have most things you need, medium sozed rooms, lockers, and the beds are very comfy. Also great location! Very happy to get to give them this review :)

Surrounded by lovely greenery in the heart of vibrant Keswick centre, YHA Keswick is just a 10-minute walk from Lake Derwentwater. It features a restaurant and self-catering kitchen.

Wi-Fi access is available, along with luggage storage. The majority of rooms contain bunk beds. we upgrade our stay to 4 beds ensure room, nice and clean, listen to the sound of river running at the balcony, is our best memory of lake district

The Beatrix Potter Gallery is located in nearby Hawkshead, and Lake Windermere is only a 10-minute drive from YHA Hawkshead. The lush greenery of Grizedale Forest is just outside the hostel, home to excellent mountain biking trails and a Go Ape! treetop adventure course. Nice environment, good value for money.

Some bedrooms have views across both the lake and the Langdale Pikes. This hostel offers private rooms with en-suite or allocated shared bathrooms..

Ambleside village is a 10-minute walk from the YHA hostel. It has a selection of quaint tea rooms, artisan shops and country pubs. Staff is very polite and friendly. Asked them to take early breakfast since we needed to be on our way early morning, and they prepare for us breakfast for take away with message that made my day! Place is very nice and location is nice. I hope i will come back next time! I would like to thank them!

Located in the market town of Keswick in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Denton House Hostel is just a 5-minute stroll from Keswick Leisure Centre. With free WiFi and free parking, Keswick Museum and Art Gallery and Cumberland Pencil Museum are also less than a mile away. nice place to stay!! spacious rooms with comfy beds and staff was all very kind!!

Located in Thirlmere, Fisher-gill Camping Barn offers free onsite parking and a terrace. Set within the Lake District National Park, the hostel is at the foot of the Helvellyn Mountains and just 5 miles from Keswick. I had the most wonderful time here! The surrounding area is gorgeous, and coming back to a crackling woodfire and a hot water bottle after having been out on a hike is the perfect end to a day spent exploring! The owner was very kind and helpful, and the camping barn had everything I could have asked for (and more!): a hot shower (coin operated, 1 pound gets you 50' of hot water), maps of the area, comfortable beds, a fireplace and some wood already prepared, fully equipped kitchen, and even hot water bottles!

Nestled in the Cumbrian countryside in the Lake District National Park, The White Horse Inn and Bunkhouse offers dormitory rooms, free parking, free Wi-Fi in public areas and a pub restaurant.

Each dormitory room at The White Horse comes with a shared shower room and toilets. Bed linen (duvet, duvet cover, pillow case and bed sheet) are available at a surcharge and by prior arrangement and guests are advised to bring their own towels, as these are not provided. Easy to get to! Location is one of the best.

YHA Holly How offers dormitory-style accommodation in Coniston, a 10-minute drive from Hawkshead, Ambleside. It has a games room, a restaurant serving evening meals, and offers free parking on site.

Guests can go walking, cycling, and canoeing in the surrounding area, and there are mountains nearby. There are scenic trails for mountain biking, as well as opportunities for sailing. The room was spacious, with storage boxes provided under the beds. Multiple showers and bathrooms. Rooms cleaned daily. Great location to hiking nearby.
