Located a 5-minute stroll from Shimoyoshida Station, Hostel & Salon Saruya offers a renovated 80-year old Japanese-style accommodation with free WiFi.

Fujikyu Highland is 2.3 km from Hostel & Salon Saruya, while Kitaguchiihongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is 2.6 km from the property. Oshijuutaku Togawa and Osano’s House is 1.6 km from the hostel and Chureito Pagoda is 1 km away. The nearest airport is Tokyo Haneda International Airport, 88 km from the property.

One of my favourite stays during a month in Japan. Definitely more of a boutique guest house than a hostel. Beautiful design and very comfortable rooms. Lovely communal space with nice teas available and the sister cafe (where you have the breakfast) was a highlight of my entire trip ( I went 3 times in less than 24 hourse). Location was amazing and I LOVED Fujiyoshida as a little town. Would absolutely return and recommend to anyone looking to stay near Fuji. Easy walk to Churieto Pagoda, recommend going for sunrise.

A mere 10-minute drive from the Fujikyu Highland amusement park, Fujiyoshida Youth Hostel offers private Japanese-style rooms, free Wi-Fi at the lobby. Coin-operated laundry facilities are on-site. The property is an 8-minute walk from Shimoyoshida Station on the Fujikyuko Line.

Very affordable place within walking distance of Arakura Sengen Park and two train stations. The room itself is cozy and I got a traditional style room with tatami mats and a futon. The shared toilet (it's heated!) and shower worked fine. The host is very pleasant and was happy that I got to see Mt Fuji.

Open from June 2016, ホステル富士山 結 is located just a 3-minute walk from Fujisan Station.

The hostel also offers bike hire and luggage storage. A launderette and towels are available. No meals are served at the property.

Location was excellent, about 5-10 min walk from Mt. Fuji Station with several restaurants nearby within walking distance. Place was clean & comfortable. Many amenities were also provided e.g. coffee, homemade bread, toothbrush, towels etc.. This is not typical of hostels. The hostel staff were also fantastic and extremely helpful. Overall value for money and would strongly recommend.

The property offers simply furnished private rooms and dormitory rooms with bunk beds. All bunks come with private curtains and reading lights. We do not have a lounge/common area but we have a few tables and chairs near the dormitory room and on the balcony for all guests to use.

Amazing place in Fujiyoshida! It’s easily my top favorite for this trip. The property is VERY clean, comfy, cozy! The owner couple and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Michael san even drove me to the station so I can catch my bus. I would come back with family and friends!

Lake Kawaguchi is 2.7 km from Kagelow Mt.Fuji Hostel Kawaguchiko, while Mount Fuji is 15 km from the property.

Gorgeous place, I loved the nature and the hostel itself which has a Japanese and Scandinavian vibe to it. If you’re looking for a place to relax and just connect with nature I think it’s the best place to do it at.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

The hostel was just beautiful! Extremely clean, bright and the room was spacious. The whole time it smelled like fresh cooked bread which was also delicious. The bikes were a bit tired but got us around the lake safely. Not a hostel to meet other travellers just a cosy home stay. Letting us leave our luggage all day was also a great perk!

Great value for money. The room was big for one person, with two beds (I guest I would have preferred a double/queen bed). The beds are comfy and they provided foam earplugs. Great location in Fujiyoshima, just right on Honcho St. where you can see a great view of Fuji (on a clear day!) Shared bathrooms were clean. It was a very aesthetically pleasing hostel.

The entire atmosphere is super cosy and comfortable. The owner, Hiro, made tasty breakfast every morning for a very affordable price and it was a perfect way to start the day. The hostel offers excellent experience for a small budget. Hiro, speaks English very well and is a great conversation partner.

This was the best Hostel we could have stayed in. The owners are so lovely, kind and welcoming. We had a really good time also with the other guests, played cards and had great conversations. The rooms were clean and comfy. The bathrooms and toilets also absolutely clean. We could also rent bikes to explore the area. We would always come back. Rating of 10 is not enough. Absolutely perfect stay. Thank you so much.

Favourite hostel I've ever stayed at. Extremely clean, comfy and large beds and a kitchen. I hired a bike for the day which was so cheap and convenient, and after a long day cycling I came back to the warm and most cozy common area I have ever seen. The music was so cute and jazzy and it immediately felt like a hinge away from home. You can store your bags there before and after checking in/out and Hiro San the owner was so accommodating making sure that everything was fine, we were warm and happy etc.

Great location, close to train stations and a shop nearby. The hostel is also well-equipped with most things you would need. We were shocked by the amazing view in the next morning when we open the door, seeing Mt Fuji right there outside of the window.

The lady that welcome us was super nice, with great English. The place is simple but everything is more than what you expect from a youth hostel. Great room size for 3 people, and very cozy. The location is good for Fuji spotting from different places and not that far from the train station and cool neighborhood.
