The guest house is really clean and everything is freshly renovated. They welcomed us and explained everything about the house. The breakfast was like in a hotel rich and large with everything you need. My favorite, the croissant and fresh coffee.

huisalfons is situated in Mechelen, 2 km from Toy Museum Mechelen. 3.4 km from Technopolis Mechelen, the property is also 5 km away from Zoo Planckendael. Guests can enjoy river views. I had the room on the top floor and it was absolutely gorgeous! I loved the little details, such as a bag with delicious cookies or the aesthetic decorations. The view was spectacular as the apartment is right next to the river. I also really loved the high ceiling and the bed which is super big and comfy. Probably the cleanest apartment I’ve ever been to. As I arrived at night, I could enter the house via app which was really practical. On the first floor, there is a kitchen which can be used. Big thanks to the owner, Nele, who helped me with everything and who was always available via Whatsapp. I had a wonderful stay.

I must add that the host is a most interesting person. I was delighted to discover his extensive knowledge of the English theatre— especially Shakespeare and George Bernard Shaw — and great English actors, including John Gielgud and Laurence Olivier.

I totally recommend this place, especially if you need some good rest and peaceful time! The bedroom and the private bathroom were amazing, we chilled and enjoyed our time there!
