It offers views of the surrounding mountains and to the volcanic peak of Pico island. the house was very comfortable and very clean. Don’t forget to get a tour of the magnificent gardens!

Caldeira Guesthouse is situated in Calheta, 100 metres from the Atlantic Ocean, in the Azorean São Jorge Island. It is located in natural surroundings, within the Fajã da Caldeira de Santo Cristo Natural Park, 30 km from the main village of Velas. David and his team were very kind and helpful, always there to advise us if we had any questions concerning our ongoing trip in the Azores. The breakfasts and the diner we had were excellent. The place was very calm, perfect to relax and its location near the sea and the trail makes it perfect for surfing and hiking.

The owners also provide free pastries and fruit for guests. everything was amazing! the location is in front of the harbor with amazing view to Pico mountain! the room was clean! you can also find a disposable soap!!! the breakfast outside in the small terrace was an experience!!! you have a different choices and the homemade jam was delicious! Antonio is an incredible artist and the house is full of his creations!! he was so kind to wait us outside the house and helpful! we had a great experience

The nearest airport is Sao Jorge Airport, 6 km from the guest house. The place exceeded our expectations simply because of its host Rui! Maybe the room is a bit too small but Rui is a gem! He suggested some very best sport to visit on Sao Jorge, helped to solve return time issue with car rental company, suggested few really nice restaurants and even booked few taxi rides for us. We simply forgot about all the small inconveniences in the house, becase Rui made us spend a great time in Sao Jorge and if you read this, Rui, thank you very much!

The location couldn't be better, walking distance to supermarket, swimming, and several restaurants.

The large sliding glass doors allowed for exceptional views looking over Velas and the surrounding mountains from every room. Breakfast was the typical buffet style. All in all This a great place to stay in São Jorge.
