Words could not describe how amazing was our experience. Since we arrived, Bryan welcomed us with a very big smile and kindness. The food, the location, the room, everything was perfect and way beyond our expectations. The jungle trekking with the staff of Sumatra Thomas Leaf Monkey was anonther level of perfection. Rachid and Gunawan were more than professional and helpful during the whole trip, big thanks to them. The trek was wonderful, the food also was so delicious , the lunch and the dinner in the camp where we had a special member of the team who cooked for us traditional dishes. We highly recommend both the guesthouse and the trip in the jungle with this super team. Thank you a lot for this lifetime memorable experience.

Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa er staðsett í Bukit Lawang og býður upp á fjallaútsýni, veitingastað, öryggisgæslu allan daginn, bar, garð, sólarverönd og lautarferðarsvæði. Ellie helped us to organise a trip in Sumatra from getting picked up at the airport to being dropped off, including activities such as jungle tour, elephant washing, lake toba, etc. Not only was she very professional during the organisation but she was also available all along in case something happened! Upon arrival at the discovery villa, we were greeted by Tyson and a delicious watermelon juice, while he walked us through the planning of the next couple days. Every guide we had was very knowledgeable ( Dany walked us through the jungle, he stopped often to show us some plants and of course the various monkeys/ orangutans) and always seemed very happy! The food was very diverse and delicious, especially the juices😋 The whole trip felt like pure holidays, we did something everyday but never felt rushed or stressed as the guides were usually flexible! Everything was absolutely amazing, we would definitely recommend staying there and take contact if there is any special requests, they are always happy to help their hosts!! We will hopefully be back one day!

SeaGate Bungalows í Sabang býður upp á gistirými, einkastrandsvæði, garð og garðútsýni. The Place was amazing. Great value for money. The room has a sea view, it is very quiet, comfortable, clean and you have a fridge, desk and drinking water in the room. Wifi works well and I could work and take online meetings with no problem. The food prepared at the restaurant is some of the best I have eaten in Indonesia. Because of Ramadan food options needed to be arranged in advance but the host cooked for us during lunch also because on the island there would have been very limited options otherwise. The best thing is the reef right in front of the property that is basically your backyard. Beautiful snorkeling you can stay in the water for hours. They arranged for us a pick up and drop off at the ferry port and also a scooter rental at a reasonable price.

Sahnan Guest House er staðsett í Bukit Lawang og er með garð, verönd, veitingastað og ókeypis WiFi hvarvetna á gististaðnum. We stayed 6 nights at this beautiful Guesthouse with lovely people. The room was spacious and the patio overlooking the nice garden was a great place to relax. On one afternoon we could even see an orangutan with her baby in the garden. The complementary breakfast was delicious with lot of choices. They have also a restaurant overlooking the river where they serve superb food and juices at very convenient prices. Andri and his family were very friendly and helpful for any inquiry we had and arranged our transport from airport and after to Berastagi. We went on the 1 day jungle trek with them and had a great time with Amri and Baba as well as a very interesting village tour. Comunication before arrival was excellent. Wifi was working very good.

The location is a perfect base for jungle trekking but the best thing is the incredible staff and the amazing food. I’m genuinely sad to leave and it feels like I’m leaving my home. Everyone works so hard to make it a fabulous experience. Fun Family Guest House n Jungle Tour býður upp á gistirými í Bukit Lawang. Gististaðurinn er með sameiginlegt eldhús og lautarferðarsvæði. Þetta 2 stjörnu gistihús er með sérinngang. The room supplied the basics plus a mosquito net and was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and I was never too hot. The tour was astounding. Although there is no guarantee to see animals, it’s almost certain that you will. I saw 10 orangutans on the first day of my two day one night trek, including two completely wild ones which are difficult to find. I also saw many other species of mammals including the white gibbon and pig tailed monkey. Another rare find was a very large tortoise. The hotel owner and tour guide is very generous and welcoming, makes sure you are looked after and comfortable, and ensures a good time. This is the tour guide that you want. He is the one who guides the park rangers. He will take you to locations other tourists don’t go and you will spend the first night in a location away from the other camps that has a waterfall and very nice pool in the river to reward yourself with after a long hot trek. I highly recommend this hotel and tour guide. You will not regret it. If you have the time and money, definitely choose to do the longer treks. The guide/hotel owner also helped set up my transportation to and from Bukit Lawang and helped me plan the rest of my trip.

Beautiful property, great to hang out at, and not in the tourist area. You can get the feel of a local neighborhood. The rooms are clean and spacious.
