What an authentic experience !..a very special time was had by myself and my daughter..a lovely jungle set up ..Prashan , the host was so friendly and helpful providing us with teas and coffees and any assistance we needed. Fire lit evening meals which were delicious compliments to the chef.. felt magical next to the river...They provided a private jeep for the next day all day safari package which i highly recommend as we saw nearly all the animals present....from elephants to snakes and then came back to a very comfortable tent with en suite bathroom. We enjoyed an early morning boat ride before we left . The wildlife and birds around the camp were incredible ...would highly recommend as we will definately return

A great area in front of the beautiful river. Good value for money, dinner was very good!! And the staff is very friendly. The beds are comfortable and the room is very clean! We took a safari with them and it was great. Totally recommend it

The camp is in a remote area surrounded by protected forests. The last leg of the journey to the camp is undertaken on foot, accompanied by the camp staff, providing a unique and invigorating way to reach your retreat in the wilderness. The staff were superb. charming, kind and very knowledgeable. Avinka was incredible, his enthusiasm for the wildlife and leading us on our trek through the wilderness to find over 17 elephants was such a thrill. Mr Kumana was also so helpful and a great guide. the chef was very talented, considering we were in the jungle, the meals he created for us were some of the best we have had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Everyone we met during our two nights stay were just the sweetest people. The entire experience was fantastic and we totally recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy the joys of the Sri Lankan jungle with 5 star accommodation and food.

The on-site Rose Restaurant serves Western, Chinese and Sri Lankan food. It was really nice stay! We stayed one night in the cottage and second night in the tent. We really enjoyed it! Restaurant staff were super nice and friendly! We also did safari tour with Santha - he was amazing driver and the best guide. He has really good eyes so we were lucky and saw lots of animals. International and traditional Sri Lankan dishes are served by the chef on demand, at the main restaurant. Athgira River Camping offers a great outdoor dining experience as well as a barbecue dinner and cooking demonstrations. Real wild cocktails and a nice wine selection are available as well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the pool area was nice. They arranged the safari to Udawalawe National Park. The driver took us around the park.

Barbecue dinner is provided around a campfire. Free WiFi is available in the public areas of the property. The place was really awesome. We had a great time with family.
