Featuring free bikes, the eco-friendly Herdade do Ananás is located in Ponta Delgada, 2.9 km from Portas da Cidade. This hotel, where I am now staying for the 3rd time, is of course great, the friendly employees, the room(6nr.) with veranda, the breakfast and the pineapple tour and then the great hot tub in the beautiful pineapple greenhouse makes it complete. The location of the hotel is also great just outside the center. If you get the chance for dinner at Rustico restaurant, do it!

Het Convento de São Francisco is gevestigd in een gerenoveerd 17e-eeuws Franciscaans klooster op het eiland São Miguel van de Azoren. A wonderful place to stay, tranquility, picture perfect, home-made breakfast of local products, friendly staff, architecturally restored with respect to the original building, great little village 5 minutes walk full of activities that equal what's available in the city, highly recommend to stay here rather than Ponta Delgada which is reachable 20-25 mins by car if needed - would return to stay at the Convent without question.

Amazing location, the hotel is very well located, the staff are absolutely lovely and very helpful. The swimming pool is great (and the bar is a bonus), the whole lot feels very homely and classy. The breakfast is INCREDIBLE. The buildings are sparkling clean, smell good and are decorated with taste. Do not hesitate, it's a great place to wander about the island.
