The area around the hotel consists of residential and office buildings, but the streets are quiet and walkable.

The breakfast was outstanding: a variety of local specialties as well as more standard continental items, plenty of hot and cold selections. Bedrooms were clean and quiet, though a bit small. Beds were comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The man who checked us in was exceptionally helpful and gave us maps and lots of tips on what to do and see.

Scandic Vulkan is located right by the Akerselva River and the popular Oslo Food Hall, 5 minutes’ walk from the trendy Grünerløkka district. It’s in perfect location because it’s park near and all facilities are nearby. It’s also animal friendly that is so good to be there with my dog.
