I loved the French decor and Edith Piaf and others continuously steaming through cached speakers in the hallways and rooms. The bathrooms had brilliant marble and fun ceiling mirrors. Even with the impressive decor, the staff is what stole the show. Princess was the first to greet us. She answered all our questions, gave us important information about Bergen, shared recommendations, and gave us a packed breakfast for the day we had to leave early for our fjord tour. Joyce, Alexis, Stef, and Paul, also deserve special shout outs. They were professional, accomadating, and excellent at anticipating our needs. They called taxis, prepared packed breakfasts, found seats at the hotel, and just made us feel welcomed. This hotel gets an A++ for its special staff and customer service practices. Finally, it’s an interesting concept that I’ve only seen in movies where the hotel guests can get “taken up” into the busyness and crowds of the brasserie. The Charmante is a hotel but I learned that people are really into the French cuisine & wines at the restaurant. As we came during the Christmas season and within the first 3 months of the hotels opening it was VERY busy with dinner guests— but I loved the buzz. And if some do not like this, they can just go to their rooms— the noise does not follow :-)

Rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV. we liked Lisa….she always was smiling and always very interested in what we were doing!! We were there to connect with family we hadn’t met before ..she was excited for us!!!!!🇳🇴🇳🇴💕💕💕

Offering a sky bar overlooking the mountains and Bergen, this Scandic hotel is located next to Bergen Train Station. Great family room, really great breakfast. Welcoming of children and great location. Also have thought of simple things that make it more comfortable like able to buy some basic toiletries and coffee/snacks in the foyer and rent an umbrella.

The location is absolutely spectacular overlooking the fjord and the fish market. Extremely friendly staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Amazing breakfast that one should not miss. Definitely recommend.
