Breakfast was nice but just the usual. Probably not worth €45 a person. Location was perfect right in the heart of the old town, on the river. Make sure to request a room with a view of the river. The hotel is exceptional in every way but expensive. The staff will go out of their way to meet your every request. Enjoy the cigar bar. The bedsheets and duvet cover was extremely soft and comfortable. The mini bar was accessible, free of charge.

The Central City Hotel Rochat is housed in a historic, listed building in the old town of Basel. Great place, perfect location! Incredible window view (I was in the upper floor), very quite and calm. Just next to the hotel "ZaZa" wonderful vegetarian restaurant adds a great bonus!

HITrental Marktplatz Apartments offers accommodation within less than 1 km of the centre of Basel, with free WiFi, and a kitchen with a dishwasher, an oven and a microwave. The best about the apartment was the location. We found ourselves in the middle of the old town, bustling with life, but no cars. We were woken up to a choir rehearsing outside our window - lovely! The manager on site, Lemlem, is a gem! She was very friendly and really helpful. The manager on the phone, Stephanie, was a little bit inflexible at first but ended up being helpful too.
