Spello is a beautiful, very clean old town. The old town is very easy to walk around, mostly hilly but not to steep. There is no parking in the old town, if you have a car it needs to be parked about 200 metres away. You can drive in close to your stay and drop off luggage. There are many dining options and a variety of lovely shops.

Spello is small, safe and beautiful.
Spello is small, safe and beautiful. It’s all uphill or downhill so good exercise while strolling. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous so strolling alongside the fields and listening to the birds is a relaxing way to spend time. The city streets and buildings are ancient and very cool. People keep it clean and so many have flowers. Easy to just hang out in the piazzas. A few museums, churches and points of interest but we just wanted to soak it in

Such a beautiful place.
Such a beautiful place. It felt like each time I went for a walk I would find a new little street filled with plants and flowers. Very relaxing in the evenings with lovely wine and Bruscetta. We also found a Couple of places with craft beer.

Spello is a gorgeous Umbrian hill village.
Spello is a gorgeous Umbrian hill village. The population is 8300 pax, it's very quiet and calm, a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Rome and Tuscany. The food is similar to Tuscan (truffles, porchetta, lenticche, cinghiale, etc...). Just overall a very lovely village, with winding little alleys and flowers and art galleries, shops everywhere in the historic center. You will find many Northern Italians visiting on weekends...a spattering of Americans and other nationalities. A week is good amount of time to explore the village and allows times for day trips to Assisi or

Take a train to Foligno and then a taxi to Spello - you won't need a car once you're in town. Easily worth a 3 days visit to unplug and relax - Spello is an absolutely charming town. 2 beautiful churches and eat at Properzio and Pinturicchio. Don't forget to also take a hike outside of Spello through the olive groves along the Roman Acqueducts and up to the next town. Easy-moderate 3-4 hours and well marked - or just go halfway and then return. Enjoy!

The beauty of Spello and the surrounding area is...
The beauty of Spello and the surrounding area is breathtaking! You walk the pink stone lined streets and feel the ancient history. Enjoy a traditional meal on the piazza. Stay in a B&B in a seemingly remote area that is just minutes from town. The views of the hills covered with olive orchards are contrasting shades of luxurious greens.
No breakfast offered (the host is absent) but there was a kettle, tea and coffee and good biscuits. The bed was comfortable, I slept well during the night. Everything was clean and though there is no traditional wood furniture (which used to be the case in Italy), there are touches of the past : a beautiful embroidered sheet and old linens on the end tables. The location is very good, within walking distance of the train station, but close to the main street of Spello. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.
Monica went above and beyond to ensure our stay was amazing. Including collecting and delivering us to our arrival and departing transport. She organised for us to go to an olive oil farm for lunch and to see the harvest and had great suggestions of places to visit. The place was well stocked with supplies. The washing machine and drying rack were a nice surprise after having been doing hand washing for weeks! Spello was a fantastic location to stay to explore the area. Parking was easy.
Everything! Great apartment, perfect location, wonderful host! It was very comfortable to stay there.
You can easily walk to the fresh pasta store, a great butcher, a great fruit and veggie vendor, and even the supermarket.
The restaurant next door has simple, but very good food for when you have worn yourself out walking.
Spello is fabulous to visit.
We return to Spello as often as we can to see dear friends. We knew of this hotel, but this was the first time we stayed there. This is a classic family business in the best sense of the word. Our room was huge, great beds, bathroom. The view = $1 million. Great breakfast. Warm and sweet hospitality. Highly recommended.
I am happy to recommend SOGNO, a wonderful BnB in Spello . My recommend could not be highly enough. Mrs Stefania, the owner, is smart, friendly, and welcoming. Her nature combined with the apartment's cleanliness, ideal location, spaciousness, and inviting atmosphere, created an extraordinary experience
Fantastic apartment, extremely clean everything was lovely. Lovely furniture and bathroom. There is even a light under the floor where you can see the ancient Roman sewers, fascinating. Hosts Mariangela and Carlos are lovely. They even made us fresh bruchetta and fig jam. Old Spello town is magnificent.
The apartment was on the most beautiful street in Spello ...it had everything you could possibly need ...wish we could have stayed Longer it was Perfect Location, comfortable, close to Everything... Spello is a town not be missed was so Amazing..
We Loved it here... and had great dining also ...
We really liked the hotel, it's a beautiful rustic farmhouse surrounded by olive trees, with a fantastic view of the historic center of Spello.
Very well maintained, and the friendliness and availability of the manager need to be highlighted.
The swimming pool it's a super bonus!
We spent two nights there and the property is beautiful. The staff was friendly and helped us make reservations at a Spa in their sister hotel. The breakfast was delicious. Also, the bed was so comfortable! It was nice to be outside Spello away from the hustle and bustle.
This hotel was perfect to be able to attend the weekend of the Spello Infiorata! The lady at the desk during the day was exceptionally nice. My room was large and bathroom very good size with a nice shower water pressure. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.
A great accommodation. the room was a flat and was well equipped. The location is excellent being in the country about 10 minutes from Spello. The pool is excellent. Our room had a lovely patio out side for our personal use. the owners are very friendly
Peaceful setting just 10 minutes walk from Spello city walls.
Spacious, well appointed house with off street secure parking.
One of the friendliest hosts you will ever meet. Renzo went out of his way to show us around and help us with anything we needed.
The grounds were beautiful, peaceful and in a very good location with respect to seeing the sights of Spello
Maria was a thoughtful hostess and helpful
Our room was comfortable with plenty of space and the bathroom was modern. Parking was easy.
Spello is a wonderful town and we loved being in it. This is a beautiful old building near the top of the town with a view over the countryside. Lots to see and lots of great restaurants in a short walk. Great wifi and TV.
This place is a gem. Spotless. Comfy. Easy to find. 3 minutes from the nearby parking lot. The apartment is on one of the most beautiful streets in Spello. The host was fantastic, quick to reply and very helpful!
Wonderful location and an attentive and kind host. The house was minutes from the main square in Spello, one of Umbria's most beautiful cities. The house was large and very comfortable. Nearly perfect stay.
Very comfortable apartment. it feels like home. And a good location in Spello. Easy to walk everywhere. A beautiful town and very historic and photogenic.
