Great location across from the station and a pleasant walk to the old town. We arrived too late for their excellent lunch special menu which was a bargain and the food looked superb.

Für italienische Verhältnisse sehr gutes Frühstück

The historic piazza Mercato and the area there(just round the cornner and ?100 m down a shopping street) was wonderful. Modern services with cafes/restaurants and interesting shops made up the perimeter of the piazza . Despite its comfort and accommodation of modern details the historic atmosphere and authenticity wasn't compromised. There was a fabulous bookshop (for almost any subject I think) but brilliant for alpinism/alpine history. Supermarkets were <1km away, train <1 km away, peaceful at night - you can't not love it which is why people from Switzerland cross the border to enjoy life in some warmer sun

If you don't speak Italian and you don't have your own car...
If you don't speak Italian and you don't have your own car either skip Domodossola or make sure you are staying in a place right in town. Once you leave the center of town it's not a walkable place. The drivers race everywhere despite the narrow streets, there aren't any sidewalks in the residential areas and it's extremely difficult to find anyone who can speak English.
On the positive side the prices were a lot lower for everything than in Switzerland and the architecture and scenery was beautiful.

Having had a great two night stay we extended it a further two night which we quickly regretted.
The noise which started on the third night was intolerable. A local bar started blasting loud music around 5pm. The police drove passed several times but didn't intervene until around 11pm. This did not stop the music or noise. When the music stopped just before midnight we had endured it for almost 7hours non-stop. We were exhausted and the shouting of people outside (including young children at the bar) continued into the early hours of the morning. We would not return!

Beautiful little medieval centre, lots of pedestrian streets, masses of good restaurants, fabulous setting in the mountains.
Not too busy even in high summer, and friendly locals. Well-connected by trains to Switzerland and the rest of Italy.

Local residents are very friendly, helpful people.
Local residents are very friendly, helpful people. The life is so laidback, food is amazing. You can try loads of different type of wines, all of them was really nice. You can find vegan restaurants and the are cater for gluten free as well. If you want a really relaxing holiday, I highly recommend this little beautiful town.
The accommodation is ideal for all lovers of ethnography. In the apartment no.2 the atmosphere of the past is combined with all the needs of modern life. The whole area is also beautifully decorated with a sense for preservation of antiques and the beauty of nature (flowers, green plants). The view of the village bellow and the town Domodossola in the valley is fantastic. Thanks to the owner for the basket of food and water, yogurt, juice and milk in the fridge. It was a great
experience.
I highly recommend NicoMat!
Perfect location, clean and comfortable. The hotel is beautifully designed and a lot of thought and care has been taken to make the guest experience relaxing and comfortable.
Breakfast was the best we’ve experienced in Italy!
Note: We parked for free in the parking area near the old tennis courts… Parcheggio Rosmini…. 4 min walk from the hotel.
- Very good location in the center of Domodossola
- Hotel newly renovated it seems, looks modern and very clean
- Room was spacious with balcony towards train station and mountains
- Breakfast in a cozy area, with not too many options, but all we needed was there
- Most staff very friendly, checkin/checkout efficient and hassle-free
Location is in a walking distance to everything you'd need in Domodossola. Hosts are super friendly and helpful, communication went smoothly though we speak different languages. Easy check-in/out, the room was clean and cosy
Overall, I had a good sleep here and would definitely consider this place if visiting Domodossola again.
Our two rooms each had two separate bedrooms. One bedroom had a king-size bed and the other had two twins which was wonderful. The rooms and bathroom were modernly renovated and the shower was large and comfortable to shower in compared to many other hotels we stayed at. Also the Michelin Star restaurant was excellent.
A small family run Bed and Breakfast, with the best breakfast I had in years.
Only fresh and home made products. Fresh fruits, a small cake from the day before.
One can see that the restaurant and hotel has been maintained and renovated throughout the years with taste and good material
Location is excellent, as just around the corner from the best café and restaurant street, but quite a long and bumpy walk from the station. Bed was comfortable, although quite a small double, and there was a sofa with TV in the room divider (we never even turn on TVs in hotels).
The owner of the place was kind and welcomed us warmly, the hotel combines an ancient building with modern rooms, I would definitely love to come back next time and I will also recommend this place to my friends
the location was excellent. very convenient to explore the town visit the market and to find local restaurants. the room is spacious and thoughtfully renovated. breakfast is ample with local products provided.
it’s a small family hotel where the staff is simply outstanding. we came at 22h and were a bit hungry so the checkin lady did everything to find us some things to eat. overall we slept well. thank you
We like the location. 7 minues Taxi ride to the hotel. Cost 10 Euro. There grocery store is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. defnitly a plus because we were able to buy all of our necessities,
This hotel is a beautifully restored village that has been converted into a charming B&B. The views are incredible and there are many hiking trails through the mountains to nearby villages.
The Hotel personnel was friendly and helpful. It had a good location for what I needed. It was clean. The breakfast buffet was good. The hotel personnel spoke several languages.
Comfortable, immaculately clean, tastefully renovated apartment. Comfortable bed and sofa bed. Overall a relaxing experience. I would stay here again when in Domodossola.
Very good location close to the station and the centre of domodossola !
Very nice and welcoming owner. Flat well put for the space, the sofa bed is comfy !
