The apartment was very clean and spacious. Having a private parking garage is a huge benefit. Close to the main street, so it's very easy to walk. The building is very quiet.
Very friendly and polite people. Excellent street plan, wide boulevards with trees, several little museums and old mansions near the center of the city. Walking in the deserted byzantine city/fortress of Mystras, adjacent to the city, offers a unique experience. Sparta can serve as the base for exploring many interesting places in Laconia, including the town/fortress of Monemvasia (Gibraltar of Greece, 87 km) and the nice port of Gytheion (43 km),

Lovely little town with no shortage of cafes, bars, restaurants, and small businesses of all kinds. Super view of the mountains. Walking distance to everything including ancient ruins an the statue of King Léonidas, shirt drive or bike ride to Mystras (look it up!) and about 40 minutes to Gytheio/beaches. Don't forget the olive oil, figs, pomegranates, and oranges.

There's much more to see than expected, according to previous reviews. In common with the rest of Greece, the signage is poor: you have to be determined to find your way up to the acropolis, just imagine! A really good visit. An excellent day in Mystras, a place not to be hurried.

The must-see in Sparti is Mystras site: beautiful byzantine churches with magnificent frescos, an old castle on top of the hill and the palaces of glorious byzantine families (unfortunately those last ones not visitable at the time of our visit due to works). Mystras is 6 min drive from Sparti.
For the rest, the ancient agora is worth a visit (still under excavation), Leonidas statue, Leonidas tomb and the area around the Central Square, with a few nice restaurants and cafés.
The hidden gem in this city is the Olive and Olive Oil Museum - really worth visiting!

Sparti has a small city center and limited attractions and thus a limited nightlife. Sparti’s greatest attraction is that it is literally right next to the stunning physical landscape of the Taegetos mountain range. Unfortunately, this incredible landscape has not been developed. Sparti has a strong sports/athletics culture. I believe that it would greatly benefit the city’s tourism industry to market the Taegetos mountain range to Sports and outdoor enthusiasts. Exploring the Taegetos by a hiking foot path or by mountain bike would be an awesome experience for any traveller and it would greatly enhance the international image of the city as an athletic tourist attraction.

Besides being in a beautiful location (mountains on one side, hills and olive groves on the other), Sparta was a big enough town to have lots of restaurant options, but not so major that it was overrun with visitors. The Museum of the Olive & Olive Oil is really interesting and robust, and the archaeological museum & acropolis are definitely worth the visit. The archaeological museum is small, but has a really beautiful collection including many coins. The acropolis has a few buildings to look at (including a large ancient theater), but is especially worth the visit for the views at the top.
Sparta is a great location for day trips, but its a nice city to come back to because it's got a life of it's own separate from it's tourism. You definitely can drive around Sparta, but we walked everywhere (nothing was further than 20 minutes away) and saved driving for leaving the city. When I return to the Peloponnesian Peninsula, I would stay in Sparta again as a central location.
I came to Sparti earlier (on Sunday !), but I could leave my luggage in the office and they made the cleaning quickly - that I could have a room/flat at noon.
This flat was not so far from the center, but this street was not with heavy traffic.
In the sitting-room there are nice book-case with beautiful books of Greek history and archeology.
Xakousti and Vasilis helped me also to find phone-numbers of taxi service to see the Laconian archeological localities - Vafio, Amykles, Menelaion, Pellana, Mystras...
Very big, nice and clean apartment in Sparti! Anything you need for having a great time!
Close to Leonidas statue and only a short walk to city center.
Very kind and helpful owners! Ms. Pepi did everything was possible to help us and she even offered us an excellent homemade breakfast and greek coffee, free of charge! Thank you very much!!
For sure we'll be back next year and we'll stay longer!
We have been here again, it’s our favorite place
in Sparti, green, silent, and safe area with nice
tavern nearby. The apparent is very comfortable,
super clean and had some goodie’s in the fridge.
Christos and his wife are so trying to make
everything perfect, we had a nice dinner in the
evening and also a cosy and diverse breakfast.
We will come again for sure!
This small apartment is in the center of Sparta and you can walk to all attractions in the city. The city and the surrounding is very beautiful. The hotel don't serve breakfast, but there are many cafée, restaurants and shops around. We visited the sanctuary of Menelaos and Helena, Old Sparta and Mystra 10 km from Sparta. We stayed there for two nights.
The Z5 apartment is situated in the center of Sparti just close to everything. It was easy to find a place to park our car, too.
The host Marianna was very kind and cooperative and has thought of every detail in the apartment to make it comfortable. We enjoyed a peaceful and easy stay in Sparti,. Thank you!
Proximity to the City Center: On the plus side, the hotel is relatively close to the city center of Sparti. This does offer some convenience when it comes to exploring the town, dining out, and accessing local attractions. However, it might not be enough to compensate for the hotel's other shortcomings.
The location was steps from the shops and restaurants of central Sparta, a block from the museum, and only a short 15-minute walk from the Acropolis and the bus station. Staff was friendly and helpful, A/C worked great, and the bed and bathroom were both clean and comfortable.
Amazing facilities. All staff were helpful and made you feel welcome. The room was very spacious and the views of the garden were great. We had a wedding at the hotel which we enjoyed a lot, the reception was absolutely stunning with a huge aquarium filled with exotic fish.
Great modern apartment.
Great location and an awesome host.
This apartment will comfortably fit 2 couples.
Everything is set up so that you don't need to worry.
WiFi is solid.
Hot water in abundance.
The best apartment I've seen during my travel in Greece so far.
The location is perfect for walking around Sparti. In close proximity is everything you might need. The apartment is clean and very modern. We slept comfortably as a family of four. The host was extremely polite and very helpful with recommendations for us.
It’s a typical city hotel bedroom no frills clean to the point and a reasonable breakfast as an extra. A little tired round the edges. Good location but parking is a small issue. We parked a good five minute walk away in a side street so no problem for us.
Family feeling. It was like being at home! Good space for our group of 4 adults. Owener gave us transportation to and from bus station. Location very convenient for walking around Sparta. It was very close to the site of Ancient Sparta.
The absolute best place to stay in Sparti! The unit was amazing with great views of the mountains, the location was top notch and within walking distance of the main square and Gina was an excellent host. Just perfect.
Mystras Grand Palace is an amazing hotel with the most kind staff I have ever seen!
Thank you so much for your great services and hospitality you provide!
Keep up your great job!
