The hotel was in a fantastic position and there were views whichever way you looked. We had a room with a veranda and enjoyed our complimentary bottle of wine in the warmth of the Spring sunshine

Our stay at the hotel was a great experience, especially for the man where he owns the business, who is an extremely welcoming host willing to answer any questions we had about what to visit in the unspoiled area of Laconia. the definition of hospitality at all levels.

The accommodation is new and located near the beach. The private parking was convenient. The host, Yiotha, was very friendly and helpful. We arrived very late (~11pm), and they waited for us and gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival, and assisted us to carry our luggage up the stair to the room. Our room was of good size, clean, tidy, modern, quiet and well-facilitated. The bed was very comfortable. The swimming pool was nice. The breakfast was excellent, including omelette, fried eggs, a good serve of cakes, pies, pastries, breads, yogurt, fruit bowl, juice and coffee. We are very satisfied with this accommodation.

The view of the sea and the Rock from our room was exceptional. The room was quiet, with comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and you could hear the sound of the sea. Plenty of parking out front. Wonderful breakfast. This must be the best value for money hotel in or near Monemvasia. Mrs. Pramataris and her family and staff were very welcoming, super efficient, and to top it all they mailed a package with our forgotten jackets to our next hotel in Greece. Amazing hospitality!

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring.
Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring. As long as you are reasonably fit and mobile there is a lot to explore. A few shops and tavernas, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. History oozes from every stone. I did not like to see the horses laden with stone carrying to and from the building works, slipping on the steep cobbled streets. There are workers with trolleys and wheel Barrows to carry your luggage if you want but nowhere is that far away, pack very light though. Parking is restricted so drop off your stuff at the gate and go away to park, or get a bus from the town on the mainland. It's not the easiest plave to access but it is worth it.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated.
Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated. The hiking trails around the castle and Kalives are often ignored in favor of the castle, which is a crime. The castle is obviously the big attraction here and it's worth it alone. I would suggest staying in Gefira and walking up the castle if you are physically able instead of driving. Skorpios (in Gefira) and Matoula (in the castle) were my favorite places to eat at. By no means should you neglect to try the local wines, especially Malvasia.

It was cool to realize you were staying in something that existed 500 years before you were born, before planes, trains and automobiles... Accomodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Staying here is about the experience, not the amenities. We really enjoyed our visit. I loved exploring the ruins of the upper town at sunrise. It is a very cool experience.

Unique experience to stay on The Rock!
Unique experience to stay on The Rock! Hike to the upper ruins is a must do, we should have done it upon arrival but waited til the morning of our departure. I would have preferred sleeping in, longer time at wonderful breakfast buffet, and relaxing on our balcony before leaving …. there’s always next time.

Monemvasia was wonderful.
Monemvasia was wonderful. The views were amazing as was the architecture. The Byzantino Hotel was great as were their recommended restaurants. The staff went out of their way to please and to help with directions on driving excursions in the area (Google Maps is out to lunch at times - this was pointed out by staff).
We had the most beautiful room with an amazing view overlooking Monemvasia. The staff here were super friendly providing a map and giving us information about good restaurants. The room was spacious with a big verandah and we decided on the room with a sea view and so glad we did. The buffet breakfast was fabulous with a lot of choices and the staff were really lovely. The hotel was also well located to go across to the old town and climb up to the acropolis. Overall would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Monemvasia.
Lovely place to stay in Monemvasia. The city is absolutely magical, and my friend and I always spend a few days in winter there in Malvasia hotel. This time we had booked a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the sea, the nearby church and the city from where we could see the sun rise every morning. The place was spacious and functionnal. Delicious breakfast in the morning. We would definitely come back again :-)
Staying in Monemvasia, on the side of a large rock, is such a treat. I will never forget the one night we spent in Monemvasia - this place is a photographers dream! As far as the hotel room- I felt like I had stepped into another century and the room had a rustic charm. The woman at the front desk and the gentleman who helped us with the luggage were very pleasant and helpful.
Beautiful place, especially loved the huge balcony with a view! The hosts were kind enough to leave bottled water, fruit, local wine and local treats! They even helped us with our bags to and from the car (if you stay anywhere within the castle you have to leave your car at the gate). Highly highly recommend!
Our room at klelia hotel was nice clean and comfortable, with a sea view balcony. The hotel has a good position from the centre of Gefira (about ten minutes walk) and from Monemvasia (about twenty minutes walk). The lovely girl at the reception is extremly kind and professional.
The people at the hotel were lovely and helpful, the rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable, and offered a lovely balcony with a view of Monemvasia. The hotel is on the hotel just outside the old town, there's free parking on-site, free toiletries and water.
A very nice and charming hotel inside the walled town of Monemvasia. Our room was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and overlooked the beautiful sea. Breakfast was rich and varied. The outdoor cafe was absolutely stunning, offering relaxed seating with magnificent views.
Very welcoming and attentive service. Very clean and brealfast, food and drinks were very nice. Nice views and sitting areas. Size of the hotel ment that it was relaxed and not overcrowded. Huge plus is the awesome salt-water pool overlooking the rock of Monemvasia.
Second time staying in this hotel and won’t be our last. Staff lovely, room delightful and such a bonus being able to park right by your room unlike other places in the castle where you have to carry your stuff far etc.
we loved the old world feel.
room was spacious and charming.
a different experience to be within the castle walls. the views from the room and area were lovely. great breeze. breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The Hotel is in the most perfect location in Monemvasia surrounded by historical attractions! There is also a delicious buffet breakfast in the morning.
This hotel is excellent location to explore Monemvasia area . Clean , modern rooms and very lovely staff running the hotel , very helpful with information and also lovely breakfast.
The location within the castle walls, overlooking the sea is absolutely great. The traditional stone decor of the former monastery also makes for a very unique stay.
