I used to live in Swindon and there are parts to avoid, ann the bottom of town isn't what it used to be, but for a great night out, there is Old Town. For country walks there is Lydiard Park and Coate Water. The surrounding villages and towns and close to the Cotswolds, Swindon is great for a central point

MacArthur Glenn outlet was good. Homesense too
Swindon has too many terrible drivers, who drive too fast & too close. There need to be traffic calming measures & more traffic lights.
Terrible, inconsiderate drivers can't be trusted to obey rules & use roundabouts properly.

The ambiance and excellent food exceeded our expectations.
The ambiance and excellent food exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious and fully equipped. The only negative was the bed was slightly smaller than a double which was a shame as a king size would have easily fitted.

There are some lovely parks in Swindon that if you are staying for leisure are worth a visit; Coate Water near junction 15 of M4; Lydiard Park near junction 16.
The Town centre isn’t much to write home about, but a visit to the Great Western Train Village and Museum is very worthwhile. There is also a Macarther Glenn designer, Outlet Centre that is easy to get to with ample parking. At the outlet centre, we enjoy eating at Wagamama's. If you venture over to Greenridge, there is a Fiesta de Cuba restaurant. The meals are great and the price is very reasonable. We find just having a main is ample. It’s our favourite restaurant. Swindon has great transport links to reach surrounding areas; Cotswolds, Oxford, Bath, Bristol and Chippenham are all within shouting distance.

East access to nearby attractions, the M4 and major roads.
East access to nearby attractions, the M4 and major roads. The town itself, both the Old- & and New-town, is a little faded and run down in parts but overall fairly vibrant. Very good range of restaurants to suit most tastes. The pubs I visited were all warm and friendly with decent beer. Never any problems walking around the well signposted town daytime and evening. Overall a surprisingly interesting place surrounded by outstanding areas such as the Cotswolds, the Marlborough Downs and several classical English villages
Our overall experience was quite positive. The hotel's location in Swindon was excellent. However, the hotel itself could benefit from a renovation, as it appears a bit outdated and worn. Nonetheless, the cleanliness was impressive, and the staff were consistently polite. The breakfast options were satisfactory and promptly restocked when items ran low. We booked a club room, but it didn't seem noticeably larger than a standard room. However, it provided access to the gym, which we didn't utilise.
I can't fault this hotel for the money. The room was spacious and very comfortable, the bar, lounge and leisure facilities were great and the staff were polite and friendly. It is a very big hotel/conference complex and I imagine it would be busier and more expensive when events were on, but for the price I paid, it was excellent value for money. There is also some lovely countryside to explore around it - The Ridgeway and Barbury Castle. A few minutes drive into Swindon and Marlborough too.
I’ve been working a few weekends nearby and find rooms do become available at the last minute which is handy. I’ve always had a comfortable stay here, usually for a few hours overnight. Due to this, I don’t usually get a chance to explore the property or sample the menu. Reviews are quite mixed regarding the food fare so may eventually try it if back in the vicinity. This hotel has always provided a relatively pleasant stay.
We had a very pleasant stay at SW bed and breakfast. We had a nice clean room in a quiet neighbourhood with plenty of available parking and close to the town centre. Sara was an attentive host, very kind, and the breakfast she prepared was one of the best we've ever had. I must admit it was the best available option we found in Swindon, considering the price and the services provided.
The hotel/conference centre is attached to the Manor House with a large park. The whole site makes a very positive impression. The Manor is very well restored. Hotel is probably recently refurbished. The price is very moderate. Restaurant is not expensive and good enough. Staff is friendly and helpful.
I can it truly recommend for the stay around Swindon.
The property was clean and tidy. I love the spacious living room, all facilities were working fine. Convenient location at West Swindon. 15 minutes drive to town centre. I was given clear directions to the property and how to get the key. Very easy walk from asda- 4 min. A lot of greenery and parks nearby.
As a Swindon native who’s now moved away I dread coming back to Swindon and staying in the hotel offerings there. Leonardo is by far the most updated, cleanest and comfortable hotel in Swindon. Bar a few marks on the walls and some more deeper cleaning required the hotel stay exceeded expectations
The host was amazing. I came in late and he made arrangements for me which other hotels wouldn't do. He helped me carry my luggage and was always asking everytime if I needed anything or my room cleaned. I would come again because the service was exceptional
The staff were so friendly and helpful ,I was kinda out of it when I arrived and everyone looked after me .Room was lovely and clean and had a great view .I really enjoyed my stay ,The hotel is very close to the train station and town centre .
The hotel was centrally located in the Old Town of Swindon which is home to plenty of pubs and eateries and is not too far to walk to the New Town or the railway station. The breakfast was very reasonable for the additional £4 outlay.
Bed was very basic and a bit uncomfortable. Hotel had a smell in it couldn’t tell you what it was. Room needed some maintenance, holes in curtain, a little scruffy.
Lovely garden with plenty of vegetation, short car ride from Swindon.
Super friendly staff provided excellent service including checkin and dining.
Bed is comfy
We were very impressed with our clean and spacious room..........I particularly liked the privacy of our small terrace
We did not eat food at the hotel
