The Village Inn, hotel in Rothbury

Offering a garden and sea view, The Village Inn is situated in Longframlington, 19 km from Alnwick Castle and 41 km from Northumbria University.

Pub with friendly and helpful staff. Bed was comfortable, room was quiet and the heavy curtain kept out the light nicely, so we had a good night's sleep. Had a nice dinner of steak frites and a drop of decent local ale. Breakfast is provided in the cafe across the road, and it was good. Very good value for money.

I have been coming here for years as a child i visited here with my family and as i have grown up i have been here with my family, i learned to fly fish on the river, at age 7 and keep going back for more, this trip was to do the Northumberland 250 and Rothbury is a great place to stay as it is in the middle of the route.

Pretty village several good pubs and a really good Micropub.

Pretty village several good pubs and a really good Micropub. the amazing Cragside House only a mile and a half outside the village. N.T. over 40 miles of walks on the estate and 6 mile carriage walk which you can drive round. Queens Head served a good meal on Saturday night. Closed for meals after 6 p.m. on Sunday. Rothbury is only about 12 miles from Alnwick, an attractive market town with a castle used in Harry Potter films.

Small town with lots of quirky shops, three pubs, a wine bar and good cafe and bakeries. Lots of interesting things to see and do mainly connected with Lord Armstrong who was an engineer and armament supplier in the Great War. The town has erected the Armstrong cross on the green in front of the church and pub in his honour A visit to Cragside is a must!!!

Difficult to give a review as my paternal family come from Rothbury, however, its a great place to stay for a short break or to use as a centre for touring whether by bike, car or other mode of transport. Some great walks around the area and of course Cragside is a must visit place

A lovely, clean, bright, warm, comfortable property, in a good location. Friendly host . The most comfortable bed I think we have ever slept in! All the facilities seemed brand new and of a good standard . We had privacy and yet, convenience of a short drive or walk into Rothbury which is absolutely delightful , as is the surrounding area . We extended our stay a further night as we didn’t want to come back ! Would definitely stay again.

We came back, as promised, to this friendly house in a lovely village perfect for trips in the Northumberland area. Big room, comfortable bed, with an additional sofa in our king room. Good price, no extra charge for the dogs, pubs and restaurants on-site, nice park on the river bank. Chris the owner is very nice and helpful, we really felt welcomed as last time. Everything was perfect for us and our 2 dogs. Definitely recommend!

Property well maintained and managed. Modern with great bedroom/ living area upstairs with an excellent kitchen and bathroom downstairs, brilliant shower. Kitchen area perfect with dish washer, washing machine etc. Really good location and only a few minutes walk into the Rothbury and a good base to explore the County. Matt ,the owner, has put a lot of effort into this property.

Lou and Shaun were incredible hosts and the place was incredibly surprising - a wonderful Northumberland farm experience and the biggest B&B room we have stayed in. There is so much history to the place and a visit to Cragside is a must do to complement the Cragend farm experience. Can not rate this place or the hosts highly enough.

My in-laws room was a suite which was a good size, dual-aspect room on the second floor, that was freshly decorated with two tub chairs and a large bathroom with separate shower. The hotel is quite old but generally doesn't show it's age, particularly this bedroom. The hotel is in a nice location and the staff were pretty friendly,

We've visited Rothbury many time over the last 30 years and have stayed at the Queen's Head Hotel and had many enjoyable family meals there. It's an old building and although it was refurbished a few years ago you have to accept that it's not a new building so there's some creaks and knocked corners.
