I loved the bay and the coastal walkway.
I loved the bay and the coastal walkway. I was disappointed with the condition of the properties along and around the seafront. A feeling of neglect around the small streets. Lots of seagull droppings and rubbish cluttered these areas. The area around the train station was more desirable.

Had events worth attending. We managed to get last tickets to an event showing that it is popular to locals and visitors
Bikes from all across UK headed there on a sunny day. The roads were fantastic and the places of outstanding beauty were stunning too!

We enjoyed the closeness of everything and being able to walk to most places. It was an interesting town which we look forward to exploring more fully on our next visit.
We ate at a restaurant right next to the station, The Athro lounge, good selection for vegetarians and child friendly, to be recommended.

Good road and rail links make it easy to explore this beautiful region, or you can just hit the coastal path to do some brilliant walking. The short but challenging walk to Borth, for instance, has dramatic scenery but you can then catch the train back to Aberystwyth.
For train fans, and the less fit, you can catch the funicular up Constitution Hill for a great panoramic view and I understand there’s a steam train but I ran out of time.
However don’t expect golden sands, rather black, coarse grit.
For dinner with a difference try Paprika for authentic Hungarian food and wines.

If you enjoy walking - either on streets or coastal paths - Aberystwyth is a good place to do so. We walked from the hotel to the Cliff railway and back on a couple of occasions - but using different routes each time. If you are interested in other things, we didn't visit many locations in the town (it was a stop-over on our way home) but I understand there are a number of attractions - including the Vale of Rheidol Railway which runs trains the 14+ miles to Devil's Bridge.
A few miles north of the town is the very interesting Dyfi Osprey Centre with a brilliant set of volunteers and - at this time of the year - good views of the breeding pair of ospreys from the centre's observation platform 200m away from the nest.
We had a fabulous stay at Bodalwyn Guest House. Check in was smooth and done easily with the room key left for you at reception.
The location of the guest house is perfect - a minute walk to the seafront and only five minutes to most of the shops.
The room itself was lovely, with a massive comfy bed and gorgeous bay window. We even had a bit of a sea view!
Overall, I would recommend the guesthouse to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to rebook! The perfect base for a visit to Aber.
The beds were very comfortable, and the living space was comfy and spacious. The location was great, right on the seafront, and we could park right outside the apartment overnight and for the whole day after checking out. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful; we had a minor maintenance issue that was sorted immediately. It was really handy to have a place with a kitchen where we could make ourselves an evening meal after a long journey!
The hotel location was great, right on the front within easy reach of the whole seafront, Pier, castle and town.
My room was very spacious, light and airy, nice high ceilings. All very clean and comfortable.
The breakfasts were very good and served very promptly. I also had two evening meals here, both were excellent.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
The hotel is in a good location and very walkable to the centre of Aberystwyth. Rooms are a good size, beds very comfortable and the air conditioning was very welcome. The Wi-Fi was excellent considering it was free unlike some chains that charge extra for a decent connection. Rooms were clean and tidy with adequate supplies of tea and coffee.
Amazing property with gorgeously appointed rooms and surroundings and top notch shared spaces. It has obviously been renovated fairly recently with really beautiful, modern finishes. Located a short walk from Constitution Hill and the rest of town. Aberystwyth was a hidden gem for us on our journey and this property was an amazing find.
The room was furnished to a very high standard. The staff were very friendly, providing an ironing board and iron upon request. I had breakfast included with the rate I paid for with my room and the cooked breakfast and continental was delicious. I will definitely look for a Park Lodge hotel next time I am away for work.
The Glyn Garth is a wonderful hotel. The owner is very friendly and helpful. My room was spotless, as was the rest of the hotel. The cooked breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The hotel is ideally located for exploring Aberystwyth. I highly recommend staying at this lovely hotel
It is a wonderful location just 5 mins from Aberystwyth with parking on site. The room was cosy without feeling small with a bathroom attached. Sam was lovely and was very helpful when needed. Felt very welcome. Breakfast was also lovely!!
The Bathroom was a good size, and the little Fridge a nice touch (and useful!). The staff were prompt to top up tea bags, etc, which was appreciated. The nearness of the Hotel to the Seafront and the shops/places to eat was also a plus.
the breakfast was really good and most of the staff was quite nice and welcoming. The hotel also had a restaurant, so when there was some unexpected rain I was happy to be able to stay and eat there.
A wonderful hotel in a beautiful location. It's near enough to Aberystwyth to be convenient but far enough away to be secluded. It's an ideal base for exploring this part of the Cambrian coast.
This hotel had a lot of negative reviews but have to be honest I found the hotel in good shape clean tidy with a two minute walk to the front
No issues with parking either
Very friendly hotel. Very clean room and shared bathrooms. Very clean throughout. Lovely breakfast room . Very good breakfast . Very close to sea and town
The hotel was right on the front and we had a sea view which was beautiful. The room was clean and suited us well. The staff were friendly and helpful.
