Set against the backdrop of desert and mountains, Sharm el Sheikh is a year-round Red Sea diving and beach resort. Although based on an existing village, it is very much a purpose-built holiday town, with lots of international brands of hotel, restaurant and bar lining its sandy shores.
The oldest part surrounds the Old Market, a heady mix of shisha and spices, roughly in the middle of the Naama Bay and Um el Sid suburbs. The other Sharm districts of Shark’s Bay and Nabq Bay are along the coast by Sharm el Sheikh Airport.
The Red Sea offers some of the world’s best dive spots with rich underwater life on the deep reefs of the amazing Ras Mohammed National Park. Other watersports include windsurfing, kayaking or banana boating, and the Cleopark waterpark has flumes, pools and rapids.
Other things to do include shopping at Il Mercato mall and the many souvenir stalls, karting at Ghibli Raceway, or watching a show at the Arabian-styled Alf Leila Wa Leila. Outside town you can go horse or camel riding in the desert, and visit a Bedouin village or St Catherine’s Monastery in the Sinai peninsula hills.
The Sharm el Sheikh accommodation on Booking.com covers everything from 5-star holiday resorts to all-inclusive hotels with pools, and cheap apartments.
Sharm is very touristy. If you do any outings, scuba or other, you end up in big groups that join other tours in big groups, in the same location - very busy. If you stay in your hotel space or your allowed beach (you aren't apparently allowed to walk on the beach or walkway past your hotel property), then it's nice and relaxing. I wouldn't come here if you're a busy body, if you just want beach with a stunning clear water (and super close snorkeling), and don't mind lots of people, this is a good place.

Sharm ticks all the boxes for us.
Sharm ticks all the boxes for us. A cheaper Maldives if you pick the right accommodation. Snorkelling and diving are wonderful. The Egyptians people are lovely, but be aware they are there to make a living too. There are loads of fakes and tipping is always appreciated due to very low wages. A cleaner earns £140 per month! As for outside activities if you want to visit the sites be prepared for long days. Sharm is better done as beach stay or part of a multi visit to Cairo/Luxor. Overall I have been 5 times and would return again. Airport has poor facilities but the security is top. Safety first. Be prepared for hassle outside the resorts such as Nama Bay. April weather was 32 rising to 38 some days.

We liked a lot the seafood restaurants in Sharm - Fariz and Mahoni. I highly recommend them. Sharm has been modernised for COP 26 so looks neat and cool, although crowded in the evenings. Don't forget to visit the Soho Square in the evening with its dazzling lights. The Farsha bar is out of this world. The Heavenly Cathedral is an absolute must - one of the most beautiful churches that we have seen ever. The Bedouin night show and food were nothing special but the kids liked the camel rides and the safari on the quadrobikes.

The hotel s contracted beach, Viva Beach was tidy, clean and the staff was friendly.
We had three or four dinners at El-Masrien restaurant and were satisfied.
Altough the service was a bit erratic, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable.
It was very easy to travel around that we visited the Old Town and Soho Square by using local minibus.
I must say that it is always necessary to bargain when shopping and taking taxi.

The area of Sharm El Sheikh is stunning and there is plenty to do. Shop around for trips out as there is a huge price variance between vendors and pay up front as most charge for credit / debit card use and cash machines are massively expensive to use with terrible rates.

Didn't travel much outside of our resort (only a brief stay for 7 days).
Not a fan of the airport - take your own toilet roll!! It seems to be held to ransom by employees of the airport, who expect you to pay for them handing you toilet paper/hand towels, something I am not accustomed to, coming from the UK.

Excellent location (I was diving next door at Emperor divers & the boat was just a 2 minute walk away too).
Unusually in Egypt everything in the room WORKED!
I stayed B&B only as I was boat diving every day, it was only a short walk to the few restaurants that are still open in Naama Bay (most have been superseeded by the vast numbers of all inclusive hotels in the area), at least (for example) the Hard Rock Cafe is only a 5 minute walk away.
The room was a good size & quite comfortable.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located right in the center of Naama Bay. Therefore it was super convenient to get around. There were also several shows at the hotel that we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was however average. Yusuf at Novotel was extremely polite and helpful. He advised us on activities we can do in Sharm El Sheik and where we can change our foreign currency. He was literally amazing. These are the type of employees the hotel needs to keep employing.
Egypt’s best kept secret!
My family and I where so lucky to find this hotel all inclusive. It’s so peaceful! So much entertainment! Friendly staff! FANTASTIC perks (the jetty, the mini golf, the snack bar, the volleyball, the water polo team, the heated outdoor pool, the aqua water park ) It’s a gem! Every aspect of this hotel grounds looks like an Instagram photo op! I highly recommend meeting, Luca(the booking rep), Mohammed (the restaurant manager). We will be back! Family of 8
staff all around the hotel, in all positions - are great and helpful. speak many languages (english, hebrew, russian and even some german & italian.
spacious hotel with 3 pools, great sandy beach and amazing coral reef right of the beach.
spa facilities and treatments were very nice - especially the hamam treatment - recommended.
very comfortable bed and pillows.
all inclusive including food around the clock, water, drinks and alcohol. pool bar pizza is great
Wow, this place is paradise. You are looked after by the attentive staff the moment you arrive. The hotel is immaculate, the food is great and the staff are exceptional. I’ve never been to an all inclusive before and being vegetarian I was concerned I’d be limited, but there is an excellent choice of good food and drink. Ahmed aka ‘Alex’ who serves you drinks all day at the pool deserves a special mention. Thank you Alex, from your friends from the UK x
The check-in/ out staff were very friendly , we were offered upgraded sea view room as complimentary. Special thanks to Mr. Mohammad Kamal and Mr. Ali sayed. Hotel has a number of heated pools and different resturants serving buffet. Every one at this resort work very hard to keep the resort 5 star. The overall environment is family friendly. Beverages are available all day long. Will definitely be back.
The staff was amazing - friendly, warm, adhering to needs. Three polls (incl. Wave poll!) And slides that kept the kids busy and us relaxed. Room size and facilities were good and fit for a family. We took the hard all inclusive and it was a nice treat for us and for the kids. The food at lunch was surprisingly good. Good location. The price of the hotel gives it a high rank in terms of value for money.
We had an exceptional hospitality experience and we highly recommend staying at this wonderful hotel.
The staff was kind and attentive in every aspect. For example - quick and welcoming check in, recommendations for trips and commissions for meals we missed that delivered to our room.
5 stars casino, with casual dress code.
Clean rooms and excellent maintenance.
Location in the center of Naama bay.
Everything was very bad, i dont think this hotel is 5 stars. Food is very awful and limited, i requested many things such password of the safe, toothpaste and even the towels on the pool was not available :).
This hotel is overrated and the amount paid for the one night in this hotel i feel like i have thrown it in the rubbish. In addition to the room and the corridors were not clean.
The hotel has a 5 star luxury feel, the staff are all so welcoming, nothing is too much from the reception to the housekeeping all offer that exceptional service.
The food was such a good verity and easy to access. 10/10
Animation team produced good shows for both adults and children.
The hotel is spotless with such cosy rooms.
we cannot wait to stay here again.
Reception (Mr Ahmed) was very good but could not offer early check in for us. Have been Told that we have been upgraded to premium rooms which is very much appreciated but the room did not look any premium to me as was kind of standard for a 5 star hotel and what you should expect from such hotels so not sure what the standard rooms look like!
very good location, 5 min walk to Naama bay walk area and 7 mins to the beach. Hotel is cozy and small, very calm not like the noisy ones that play loud music 24/7 and u can't sleep.
Breakfast was good with many options, crossiant and Egyptian patties are the best, toast, jam, omelette, cheese, toast, Donuts (a bit stiff but tasted good).
The beach was very close, lovely corals. Plenty of pools and sun beds considering the hotel was fully booked it actually has a lot of capacity. Most of the staff was good. Rooms where cleaned nicely. Shuttle bus to the Old Market, Naama Bay etc. was really nice and bus from/to the beach even though it wasn’t that far it was still nice
Great position, the house reef and diving school are top notch. Nice spacious rooms, some a little dates but perfectly fine. All inclusive was great value. The food will not be to the liking of some Brits, but we are in small minority at this hotel, so catering is more for Egyption taste which is perfectly understandable.
This is actually a complex of two hotel with lots of pools water slides bars restaurants and shops. So you have everything you want nearby. Everything is clean and well maintained and there are a lot of activities especially if you travel with kids. The all inclusive system is around the clock and is quite varied.
Excellent hotel with great facilities. Everything is kept clean, staff are friendly, gardens are pristine, beach is clean and the golf carts make it easy to get around especially if you are older and infirm. There is a good selection of food and speciality restaurants and snacks in the room for all inclusive.
Very nice hotel and amenities. The food was very good for an all inclusive, you can feel that they care. The facilities were beautiful and the view was perfect.
The Indian restaurant and the sea food restaurant were perfect as well!
Arabian beach is a good all inclusive hotel but not outstanding. The rooms were big, there were plenty of pools and loungers ( although we were low season) and various restaurants other than the buffet. The staff were friendly.
Nice resort with good staff. Food is also good and I highly recommend the all inclusive option when booking. Entertainment team have on going activities and events organized for guests.
