A beautiful unspoiled natural area, lovely welcoming people. The scenery is so stunning. So few British people seem to visit and we don’t understand why! It was lovely in summer, swimming in the lake, and in winter we returned for walking and skiing.

Pertisau is a small Austrian town on the Achensee.
Pertisau is a small Austrian town on the Achensee. It is very beautiful, very clean. One can walk to restaurants, mountain lifts, shops and lakeside. There are several hikes up the mountains and around the lake that are fun for fit individuals. The boat rides provide access to beautiful vistas, as well as transportation to and from points of interest on the lake. A two-day visit can be rewarding. I've also stayed in Achenkirch and Maurach on Lake Achensee, but Pertisau is my favorite.JJeffreyUnited States - 10Scored 10

The walk along the lake edge and rides on the boats were fantastic and I highly recommend. Also the Rofan and Barenbad cable cars were super even if it is still summery and there is no snow, there are plenty of opportunities for some great walking or hiking. Otherwise it is the perfect place just to kick back and relax enjoying the mountain and lake views. The Achensee Tourist Pass is good value for money too so make sure you get a card at your hotel and then get the upgrade for approx 80 euro that gives you free transport, free boat rides and free rides on the gondolas.

Pertisau is a beautiful location. It is suitable for people of all ages and there are a wide range of activities for the active and those wishing for a more relaxing visit. There are a multitude of walking and hiking routes suitable for those wishing to reach summits or for those wishing to see the lake or take in the marvelous woodlands and pastures. We enjoyed the varied hiking , walking the lake side paths , cycling which can be a woodland route saunter or a mountain adventure. To access and enjoy the area there are buses, pleasure boats ,bikes and lifts. There are a few restaurants and hotels to eat. We were self catering and mainly ate in. We love Pertisau for the mountain walks the wonderful woodland and pastures we have returned revitalised , fit and full of marvelous memories.JanetUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

It is a beautiful lake with plenty of alternatives for a holiday. Boat trip on the lake, swimming, boat hire and mountain lift. A variety of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Also good for activities - golf, hiking, and walking

The room had enough space; it had a very comfy bed. We received a complimentary small set of local products (from Tyrolean shale oil). Apart from buffet for breakfast, there was a a variety of eggs you could order (sunny side up, scrambled, etc). The sauna was very well made and had a nice atmosphere. The hotel has a private parking, where we left the car for our entire stay. We got a local guest card, which can be used as a fare in local buses

We really liked the fact that there was a garage for parking the car overnight. We also enjoyed the fact that it was not far away from the main lift, it allowed for easy access to hiking trips on the mountain top. Because we have a young daughter (2 1/2 yo), this place was much better than a hotel as we could fix our meals ourselves, not having to force her into a seat in a crowded place for eating.YanGermany

Next to the Achensee where you can do a lot of watersports and next to the forrest which gives you plenty of hiking routes to the Bärenkopf and other peaks. Pertisau is a lively city which is only a short walk away. Hotel is much cheaper than staying in Pertisau so if you don't mind the evening stroll, take this hotel!
