Pretty little town on the lake, with a couple of excellent restaurants nearby serving local cuisine mostly. Lots to see, lovely walks, hikes and drives. One glaring problem they need to address ASAP. Very nice city with a breathtaking view with a castle on the lake and high hills covered in clouds. The lake is crystal clear, so perfect for swimming, or sailing. There are ferrys that can take you to other parts of the lake. Just an absolutely gorgeous and clean city with very welcoming people. Many art galleries and all sorts of exhibitions. We also reccomend Hotel Zum Goldenen Hirschen in the city centre with a luxury design and very nice staff.

Amazing lake town, with a special sea-lake architecture. Small but charming and the locals are very friendly. I am vegan and the staff went extra mile and served a special vegan breakfast for me every morning, on top of the generous buffet that is also available. I was super pleased having my coffee with the almond milk :)) They also have a convenient parking free of charge, and we also used the bike garage to store our bikes. Everyone is super friendly and professional. I think it's the best choice in Gmunden, so book now :)ElenaCzech Republic

The breakfast is varied and well presented. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it was quiet and only a ten minute walk to the beautiful town of Gmunden. This is a family run hotel and the owners work there along with an exceptional team of staff, who organised take away food for us, taxis and train schedules to visit other places in Austria.

There's a private garage for the guests, just enter straight from the main street and ignore the "traffic prohibited" sign (it doesn't apply to the hotel guests).
