This Castle was £70 cheaper than staying in a B&B in York, it was a no brainer and didn't disappoint. The location is amazing being just outside York ,so worth the journey . On arrival the grounds are stunning you can see the attention to detail by the ground staff. Checkin was easy and we enjoyed a drink outside as couldn't believe the temperature for late September. The room was spotless and had a very comfortable bed . We ate at the restaurant in the Castle and as young as the staff are they coped very well given how busy it was with every cover taken so make sure you book a table when booking your room. Food was amazing so don't loose the Chef, he's a keeper. I can't remember the name of the young Barman /Waiter might have been Daniel, excellent member of staff for being just 18yrs old and nothing was ever too much bother. Breakfast was as expected just Perfect and we both liked the cosy downstair restaurant and again staff were attentive . The owners have invested a huge amount to maintain this castle and saved many in my view priceless woodworkings within the castle so would highly recommend a visit here .
