For us the Refugio del Cares is a very special place to come back again and again when you have the oppurtunity. A Great Thank to Idaia and Drago for the Exceptionnal stay we did have and we appreciated with our heart and soul. We are looking forward to come back next year. Tania and Rudi.

We liked the high standard of renovation and decoration of this traditional village house. The decor could be described as "rustic chic" . Everything you might need to self cater was there, an induction hob, a microwave ,a fridgefreezer but no oven. It is well situated for touring the beautiful eastern Asturias coast with its many dramatic beaches., the Picos mountains and the Sueve mountains. The area deserves to be better known by the British; it is popular with Spanish families. It does rain occasionally but on the whole is pleasantly warm, rather than unpleasantly hot. There was a seating and dining area on a patio and the surrounding scenery was lovely, mountains , woods and lots of flowers. Very unspoiled.

The place is beautifully renovated, with great views, and a good location as a base for visiting the coast of Asturias. The cakes made by Susanna for breakfast were excellent. Both Juan and Susanna were great hosts and went out of their way to help us when my husband had a little accident.

The host people are very kind and hospitable. You can order some meals also here and they will be made with farmers' products.
